Time to deploy the bat on manager. I'm sure they'll understand afterwards.

@retoor Thanks, hope I don't forget to check this more often again! Been busy hating my job . .

@ElectroArchiver ah. You see. You only want to do that part time to leave some room for devrant.
Welcome back! I also recently came back. Feels good vibes.

@rootshell Thanks, welcome back as well. I kinda wanna switch to part time now that you mention it .. maybe I will ask for it after my vacation ..

Deadlines despite their overdramatic name are actually just preferred delivery dates. If it happens by chance that you can deliver at that date, that's fine. But normally that date isn't realistic.

@Oktokolo I mean. I agree with you but not everybody thinks like this. Besides the name is wrong watering down actual deadlines. Where if we dont deliver this by X date some axe chopping will commence. 🤡

@rootshell Doesn't matter whether other people get it or not. They aint getting it faster than it can be done. They may fire you and get it even slower or let you deliver it when it is ready.

Wanting something to happen doesn't magically make it happen. And actual deadlines are when actual people literally die because of the software not being done in time.

@Oktokolo I think we are in the same corner. Didn't need to clarify. I'm just saying it sucks. 😬

Well, while it's true that no one dies, in my previous gigs, many projects were event related, so we really had to deliver by the given date, like hard. 😂
