New form of self-inflicated torture:
Formatting changelogs . .
How did you spend your weekend?
- 1 day wasted on trying to configure a project
- 1 day spent on formatting documentation ( including changelogs & mailing archives, project started in 1987? The repo still has files that were last updated 26 years ago )9
The worst thing about cookies is that almost all pages forget / don't realize you have to handle cookie ( -> localstorage ) permissions!6
Finally got around to turning the news-section generator markdown / deno thingy into a GitHub Action!
Haven't finished writing the documentation though.2
After all the pain I just went through trying to get this workflow to pass config data, I'm gonna relax by writing overly fancy config file documentation.
LET THERE BE BOX CHARACTERS!
Wanted a change from work and decided to make a small news ( styled markdown ) generator after talking to a Pulsar-Edit maintainer.
Erotic spam bots on GITHUB, what why?!
There are thousands of other websites
that would fit better to spam on but here?!14
How to make me not want to
ever contribute to you:
'Please read and sign this CLA'
( Also telling me that shit only whenI try
opening a PR, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU )5
Got pretty far with cleaning this project up:
- Code refactorings
- Documentation reworks
- Broken workflow ( Pulsars action is not yet released, ppm not properly installed )
- Changelog content is still .. yes
- Relative links are broken in package preview ( bug in IDE )1
This is CRIMINAL, how can you make
something so COOL and not put links
to where I can buy or make it myself?!
And the comments are turned off too?!
'I don't want to push this commit yet'
Proceeds to write commit title and presses push.
'Wait, fuck ..'8
God, I love when I just want to contribute a little to a project, but the maintainer doesn't seem to have tested the setup once ..
Guess I will search for something else then ..
When a notification pops up, but
there are no new messages .. creepy
Was on GitHub as well .. weird ..2
Being now able to write import 'npm:<name>' and it just working is quite hilarious, not having to use nodejs but still using the projects built on it .. wwwwww25
To keep myself from doing anything productive on the weekend, I made a little WIP bodged together TF2-Colors page, enjoy?
I know X is missing:
- Language Selection
- Color Information
- Non-Paint Colors
- Refactored Code
- Section Names
- Section Icons
Thank you for arming robots ( for every day use ),
I didn't have enough worries already, hope this
stays in the US ( I know,.. it won't )
You are telling me I have
to wait 24 times for 24h
to receive new riddles,
ahh I want them NOW!
> Project does X
< How about you show me how X looks in action
Add fucking images to your project
if there is anything to show off!
Uh I reached 3k, cool.5
My list of open PRs didn't descrease much since the last Rant, when I went through almost all and updated them.
Still 77 open ones.
On the other hand, my PR for the SteamCMD GUI that I had just finished was taken almost immediately!
Why can't GitHub have a random repo button, there's randomrepo.something but it only shows ones with 1000+ stars ..3
GitHub Command Syntax
Do you also think GitHub should highlight
commands as you would expect them to?
Check out this related issue and give it a
thumbs up or something, maybe at some
point they will finally do something about it ..
Something I just got reminded of when I read
Aside from job postings usually being trash,
I love when they write 'You have heard of X'
or 'You know of X' instead of 'You have worked
with X' [ on this level | for this long ]
While you may think this is just phrasing, I have
had interviews that basically treated it like that
as well,.. politely declined in those cases.1
Found a 'new' little way of customizing /
stylizing / formatting GitHub markdown.
Because of that I just had to document
it in a new section of my MarkedDown
Hope someone finds it useful~4
I can fucking believe this is still the norm.
Micro selection borders for window / panel
sizing are the worst, please for the love of
god, MAKE THEM THICCer.
No need to make them visually wider,
just let me select it more easily, PLEASE.4
Do you know feeling when you have just so much fun refactoring + ( listening + singing / humming ) to music that you can't even properly type anymore because you move around too much?
I feel so happy rn, maybe it's also the coffee ..3
