I've been working on something like that some years ago - ditched the idea in favor of shared Spotify playlists and a raspberry pi with Spotify web connect.

@dsteiner spotify does not cover it all, because it only lets one user listen and kicks the rest. Also if someone pushes a new song to it the list will start there. At least for what i know
