I don't get the hate for free internships. You get your foot in the door, that's great, gives you a better starting position.

So anyway, on one hand you have people ranting on free internships and on the other you have people complaining that they can't find a job due to lack of experience. What the fuck? Either take the internship to get experience and go from there or go get a job and stop complaining. What do you guys expect? Awesome salaries right off the bat?

@Froot No but at least a minimum salary will be welcome when you are a literal unpaid slave to your seniors/bosses, if I was that retarded/masochist, I may as well get a job at my local Starbucks or retail store that at least pays me minium salary while Im learning to do that shit so I dont starve to death and homeless until they decided to pay me for my service but that just tells me that I just then literally wasted my time on university if Im getting a job that doesnt require an engineering degree ... then I should have used that time to do a trade or similar degree like fucking welding ... I may be crippled depressed but at least Im not a masochist self-defeating guy.

It's quite simple. You can either sacrifice money now for a better salary down the line. Or you can go full money grabby and be stuck in meaningless jobs your whole life. I've made my choice and it paid off. You choose whatever you want, it's your future.

Also, that attitude is not helping at all. You're not special and the world doesn't owe you shit, you're just like the other 1000000 dudes who just graduated, gray mass. So you better get your shit together and stand out or stfu.

@Froot fuck me, not everyone can afford to work unpaid. Kudos for rich parents or whatever but there is no way an unpaid internship should be a mandatory part of the job process. My company offers paid internships because we like interns that can afford food and aren't being hassled by debt collectors.

@alwaysmpe Whooa, assumptions. I'm from a quite poor family actually. I just lived at home while I interned, and co tinued being poor. But I loved my job so I wasn't unhappy. It has really helped me in the long run.

Also, it's awesome that you pay interns. But an intern should not assume that he will be paid

When I just said I want at least be paid at least the bear legal minimum wage,I never said "fuck you, paid me because Im some x,y or z type of person and I deserve it" also I sure hope you are then some rusty Gen X person for you trying to get into your moral high ground of lump me with millenials just because I still happen to be born after mid-80s and assume that just me being one makes me feel "uber-entitled" to demand livable basic wage when I also pointed out but perhaps you voluntary went blind to this part "I dont literally starve or become homeless until they decide to pay me" as in I literally cannot afford """sacrifice money""" to bet on that when I can barely have a living place and food atm in my current situation and that is by me going into debt
