has already happened. It's called Lapce.
It's an IDE mainly targeted at rust tho.
And it's not as feature complete yet.

However, bear in mind, that it's an immediate ui for one, and not a native look&feel library.

@thebiochemic on the other hand you can build a desktop application, and build it for the browser thanks to WASM with minimal changes

@kiki Sublime is pretty good tbh.
I always just keep an eye on lapce, so far it lacks some features that i personally would like, like highlighting of files with warnings and errors in the hierarchy.

But so far it's pretty neat
