if AI can take your job, then your job is worthless garbage and a waste of everyones time and money.

The body count of capitalism and its portrayal of starvation as a personal failure of the starving is massive and ever mounting, but I still think that its worst sin is vilifying progress itself by basing the right to life on the demand for human labour.

A socially minded manager would be discouraged from optimizing their department past the bare minimum needed to keep their job, because the more work is needed to serve their customers the more people are permitted to eat.
