When you go to update your Mac think great I’ll go chill out for half hour, let it update and hit restart, then come back to your computer and realise Mamp stopped your computer restarting without entering a password. FFS rookie error put in the password computer restarts to update. “Calculating time remaining...” 40 minutes. I’m so fucking bored right now just staring at the screen and having a rant.1

2nd post progress of this project https://devrant.com/rants/9985730/...
I went to shop to buy missing ir diode and bluetooth for arduino.
Launched arduino today with ir receiver and I managed to reverse engineer protocol.
Turns out it’s just NEC remote codes.
I used this library https://arduino.cc/reference/en/... to easily send and receive ir signals.
Everything took me whole day cause I’m rookie in hardware.
I can now remote control medion md 19500 using arduino.
Next step is to make it riding itself.
I need to measure speed and turn angle with error rates.
I will probably use pen and paper and let vacuum cleaner draw angle for me and after that I will use the most modern, accurate and cheapest angle measurement tool that is protractor - school welcome back
Speed can be more complicated and need another external complicated tool that is tape measure and a clock.
I also bought second robot because I got this stupid idea to allow people to control robots using internet.2 -
Obligatory this happened last night, roughly 1-2 hr before my first rant. And obligatory this is rookie and human error
After some encouragement from a few folks from a programming Discord server, I decided to give git a try. And it feels good! After an hour struggling, scouring the web and reading, I finally got the hang of git 101 and made my first working repo on GitHub!
.......except for one thing. My Picross generator (doesn't generate the image, just clues) was lost while I was struggling to get rid of the SCM from my generator in VSCode (turned out it was as simple as deleting ".git" folder), I accidentally deleted the generator. 4hr of work, down the drain. At least I kept the papers on the generator's logic so rewriting isn't gonna be a pain in the ass but...ughh.....3
