Little known, *highly* underrated.
It's like electron, except stripped of the retardation and bloatware dependencies.
Like if the people who made Go decided to make a better, *lighter*, *more portable* electron.8 -
Vim:
1. It doesn't matter on which server I ssh, I'll have vim, if not I can install it. So I get the same work efficiency I would get on my pc
2. It has a predictible behavior - u don't have to think which keybind is where, or how to do something.
3. Sky is the limited if you want to customize2 -

pure genius! Ubuntu's firmware-xx-installer installation package for legacy network adapters doesn't install diddly. it *downloads* the firmware for you.
because yeah, people installing network adapter firmware obviously are doing it because they have a working network connection and what they really need help with is downloading the file 9_9
another 30min down the hole finding the actual firmware and the cutter tool for it1 -
Hello Everyone!
This is my first post on devRant. Looking forward to reading and participating in other great posts!21 -
My CTO gave me the "designer of the year" - award, after I successfully replaced the logo from a provided template html file.7

My favorite one was always from our tech lead when I was a junior,
"Huh, didn't know we could do that. Very cool."
It was real ego boost and something that really stayed with me.1 -
Client: I want you to build me a website.
Then makes an order on freelancing website.
Me: Okay, Sir. Can you send me your specifications, please?
No reply.
2 days later
Me: Hello, sir....are you still interested?
A week later
Me: Sir.
Me: Sir.....
No reply
2 Weeks later
Me: Sir......
No reply
Client: Oh, sorry.(Then gives some lame excuse) Okay I will send you the specifications.
Me: It's Okay. Waiting for it.
A week later
Me: Sir, you forgot to send me your specifications.
No response.

WTF is going on in web development nowadays that makes people ask me to compile C# projects to Electron?
Let that sink. I'm being asked to compile a C# project that can run as a beautifully integrated seamless *native* and lightning fast application... to JS so it would run as a *website* in the Electron *browser*. Am I the only one seeing how much cancer that is?10 -
One of the coolest good bye message I have ever seen in my company...
The code is so clean with proper comments...11 -

After over 2 months of not opening devRant, here I go again.
My dad's laptop is dying so I decided to give him my old one (because I ordered a new laptop). I asked him if should I keep Linux on it, or should I install Windows. He said "ehh, keep the Linux". So there it is! Linux Mint on top of Dell Latitude E6320 and another person converted to Linux!
Also sorry for not posting just a SS.6
