If anyone is struggling with their Java class names, here's something to help!

Started working at a large company with promises of a great framework, stable environment and bleeding edge tools, decentralised working environment, only to find visual studio 2010, no git, no project management tooling whatsoever, all documentation stored on svn, no slack or other modern communications platform, still using uploaded word documents as documentation for projects and meetings, so yeah I can truly say :/11

I have three sons 5 and under. I made them email addresses I intend for them to use as they age the other day. I used their first initial, last name and the last two digits of their years of birth. In binary. Poor kids. They never had a chance.2

I just want to thank Apple that has switched the Alt and Cmd keys. Every time I use an external keyboard I thank them...4

If not already, you guys should try reading coding/developing articles in medium. They are superb.

Just pushed a 400+ line stored procedure in production. It's fucking magic and is probably never gonna be touched because no one will understand it and because "it works".5

At a party, discussing possible projects with some other programmers there.
So, does that mean I have no life outside of developing?7 -
Service's like freelance and people per hour are a farce. It's just a constant race to the bottom price-wise.
'Yeah sure I can make you a blog website in 24 hours for £5' -
When you open a non-minified file with tons of difficult calculations only to see, that every variable is around 1 or 2 letters. :'(2

Few weeks passed, and I as a freelancer without job all I did was seek for one and couldn't find anything.
Now I'm overwhelmed with all the work and interviews I got in the past weeks xD
Never balanced...
No work at all, or too much work.3 -
Have you ever committed to an impossible deadline simply because your client would have been completely FUCKED if you didn't?
this would have been remotely doable if the existing code base that was handed over was just mildly reasonable. But how could this shit ever have worked the first time?!
Gilfoyle would just have said no. Why can't I be more like Gilfoyle >.<2 -
I actually completed a personal project with proper documentation and published it on GitHub. That doesn't happen too often!12

One thing that I really hate is experienced programmers who don't threat newbies with kindness and act like "masters of everything"... Don't do that. :/12

This is What which happens when client appreciate your efforts but your manager takes them all in his account. 😑1

That moment when you realize that the bug (my fault, oc) was a struct declared just outside a function instead of inside it... And it "only" took you >4h of GDB and valgrind.
I really C/GTK+ when it comes to debug it... -
I created an open-source module for Angular about a year ago, which is now used in a real project for a big client by someone else! What a great feeling.
Just had to tell someone, my friends and family doesn't understand this code stuff.13 -
You never realize how much power you have until you quit a job and find another in a matter of minutes.2

way back in highschool, for recitation i fixed a bug in the code written on the board with a very small change. feeling proud of my work, i did a 'mic drop'-esque thing on the marker i used.
my prof apparently did not see the change i made, said to the class something about 'having guts, stagefright, etc. he thought i really did not do anything, and just erased the whole thing. i almost lost interest in programming after that.
after college though, graduating top of the class and all, the school asked me to do their website, it was kickass and the board liked it.
months after golive, i came across the same prof in a party for celebrating the success of the website.
i will never forget that "in your face" smug smile i gave him, and the obvious stumped look on his face.
sorry if its too long, here's a rant potato (:/)1
