My family (dad, mom and I) runs a software business. Things were going decent when I was in college, and just as I was about to finish college, it went slightly bad due to lack of some technical insight. So I figured, I had the knowledge to do so, and joined in the family business as my first job. When I joined, I found out that things were worse that what I expected, (lack of processes in the company to handle day to day business). But we took a year to fix it and solve issues. But during this year, while the company finally runs as a proper company, we went into some serious debt to keep it running, as we were expecting it to get resolved soon. But now, although the company is structurally fine, the sales have seriously dropped. This has us cornered and we aren't able to do anything. We are seriously considering shutting the company down.

Which is not the worst part. The worst part is the debt. Since I, was a part of the company too, I am equally responsible for paying it off. And now, due to both my parents hitting the retirement age, I will be the only one repaying it. I really don't want to invest an estimated 8-10 years of my life living very modestly and spending a large (70-80%) of my income in repaying this.

I don't even know what to do, and things just seem very hopeless for me. Looking for any advice anyone has.

I guess if I had a bit more experience in the real world, I would be better at dealing with this, but I'm literally just 1 year out of my college.

Does anyone use a hackintosh for Dev? I do like Mac OS. How stable is it with updates, and is it still as hardware dependent as it was 3-4 years ago?

I haven't used CI/CD to actually deploy an app. But I really want to automate all of that in my company. We use gitlab, so the logical thing is to use Gitlab's devops(?). Anyone who can guide me on an adventure for starting on CI/CD? Not sure if I need to give any more info, please let me know

I honestly do not understand the hate for Macs. I know I'm not the first to rant about it, but it's sad that I have to. Yes, you can build a crazy PC with 172828 cores over-clocked to 79Thz for like $7 and have a taco along with it, but that's not the point. Each of them are good for their own things. Maybe, I don't want to spend the first 13 hours figuring out which version of Linux I need to run after I get a computer. I mean give me a break. Each of them are personal preferences. What people often don't see in Macs are value you get with service and surprisingly useful default apps (I'm looking at you Open office) and a solid feature set. Why am I even writing this, it's fucking 2AM.

It's been just a year and a half, I didn't have Applecare and my Mac now has a logic board fault.

It brings me food.

Hardest internship project?

Wanted to cheat in RuneScape(Maybe not the best of ideas. But I was in 8th grade. And teen popularity was a glimmer in my eye). No good scripts. Learnt Java to cheat.

Just got rejected for an internship because of my architecture pattern. Learnt an entirely new framework and deployed an API in a week. Sigh
