YELLED AT FOR 45 FUCKING MINUTES OVER OTHER PEOPLE’S FUCKUPS
IF YOU PIECES OF SHIT WANT ME TO DO SOMETHING, FUCKING SAY IT. WRITE IT THE FUCK DOWN IN THE FUCKING TICKET.
AND IF YOU WANT A FUCKING DEMO, SCHEDULE THE FUCKING THING, AND STOP FUCKING CANCELING THEM. DON’T BLAME ME WHEN IT’S YOUR FUCKING FINGER ON THE FUCKING CANCEL BUTTON EVERY. FUCKING. WEEK.
AND SERIOUSLY, DON’T FUCKING EXPECT ME TO DROP MY LAST FUCKING TICKET THE AFTERNOON BEFORE VACATION FOR SOME LOW-PRIOIRTY CRAP BECAUSE SUDDENLY IT’S ALL THE RAGE INSIDE YOUR TINY DUMBASS HEAD. BUT OH BOO FUCKING HOO, @ROOT DIDN’T DO WHAT I ASKED WHEN I WAS BEING A FUCKING MORON! GO FUCK YOURSELF YOU FUCKING STUCK-UP IDIOT
AND FUCK BOZO THE CLOWN BOSS FOR BLAMING ME FOR THE FUCKING IDIOT’S BRUISED FUCKING EGO
FUCK THE LOT OF YOU38 -
Here's a fucking brilliant idea:
apt-get install nodejs should download and install node latest version. This would be instead of having 18 fucking tabs open and reading through masses of stackoverflow answers for 18 months and typing thousands of instructions in the terminal and learning to fucking HATE node to install the latest version of node. Radical, I know.15 -
TFW you see a job description that you know you could do with your hands tied, but you also know there’s no way you could convince the hiring manager.4

This night I had a fever and seen a weird dream. So, scientists discovered that our whole perspective is wrong, and the notion that anything is but a sum of its parts is now completely irrelevant. One can’t disassemble a thing and know how it works and what it consists of. Basically you want to build a computer, you buy all the parts you need, but you can’t assemble it anymore — it just doesn’t work, and nobody knows why. Same is true for cars, industrial machines, software and pretty much anything that have something to do with engineering.
So, earth went into riots, massive layoffs occured, world economy collapsed, and the forces of what used to be USA, China and Russia joined to tackle the problem. A research was started and we found out that we now have complexity cores (!) that distribute emergence (!!) in an ephemeral way (!!!) and that is what makes things work. Theory of New Complexity (!) emerged, and all the engineers were required to go back to universities to attend lectures about how complexity works and how to make things in that new reality7 -
Making my own game console.
I work with FPGAs and have access to a bunch of pretty nice dev boards, so building a workable CPU and GPU is definitely possible. I even have architectures for both in mind, and have planned ways to get compiler support (i.e. just use RISC-V as the ISA as much as possible so that I can reuse an existing RISC-V compiler with minimal changes) so that I don't need to write assembly.
But, lack of time. Sigh.4 -
Should we get rid of the name JAVAscript and start calling it EcmaScript or smth to avoid confusing recruiters with Java?20

I like coding. I am a professional coder. But I feel I am not very good at it. My colleagues are so creative and fast with their solutions. And here I am, always in awe and never seem to feel like becoming an expert in coding. The thoughts are tiring 😪6

With new terms of service docker desktop is becoming winrar - everyone use it but nobody pays for it2

back in college i started a project to manage my MTG and YuGiOh cards. I wanted to have a database for them with a graphical manager (already some older ones on github but i don't like the feel of them).
But between college work, the difficulty of building a SQL database schema for them and the fact I had hundreds of cards I'd need to put into the database manually I dropped the project after the 2 friends working with me also dropped out of the project.
But recently I found this hackster project (https://hackster.io/mportatoes/...), and i'm mostly sure I could retrofit it to use opencv to at least read the card title reliably allowing me to scrape the rest of the information from some wikia page as a new card is scanned. I'd just have to pick up a bin of legos at walmart lol
And previously learned about mongodb which would make storing the cards ina DB a lot easier than dealing with SQL.
I might pick this back up again, but when I first started I had 2 friends working on it with me who both dropped out before I finally gave up, so starting by myself might be a little demotivating. -
Devrant, can you recommend me a good IDE for PHP/Javascript/HTML that is not NetBeans? It decided to become unusable overnight and I need a backup IDE so I can keep working.13

You know I can't seem to think of any reason why they'd try to make one class serve me for reportedly some horrible reason, and then punish me for not letting them aside from a single phrase that one would expect to hear while having a choke chain loosened which is 'good boy, good fido' because pushing the awful things they do off on me seems to be the objective while making my life harder if I don't do what I honestly do want to do, which is that pretty latina across the way, seems like them training one group by trying to encourage another to lend the illusion of a working system. heh. meaning they'll try to blame me if they give her something she shouldn't have by dangling her in front of me like a toy mouse, and there sense of humor seems apparent when the next time through they drop some ugly old homeless guy in front of me and have her laugh as she walks off after being rejected. trains her and attempts to discourage me from a higher path.
even though its hardly fair since the other option is to wander around out of resources and uncomfortable because i'm turned off by what they are and what their system entails and that seems to be the point. only heartless people would say 'well wtf ever'
amusingly those want to be despots and emperors are on the lowest of the low side of interests and seem to be doing just soooooo well after their looks dry up.
goes to show you if you're not independently wealthy you're a node being controlled by your impulses.3 -
When you finally get to join the small group of people that have reached hell.

It's been a long ass journey and it's warm down here.12 -
My little drawing tablet is finally here! 😁
I have started drawing, but the improvements to my skills are gonna take a loooooooooong time.
Plus, I have a slow and old lappy available now... which freezes in the middle of drawing but oh well! Better than nothing! 🙂 Little improvements matter.
Today was a short exhausting relatively happy day. 🙃12 -
Well, I did it.
I spent 45 minutes writing my first hacky, shell-and-python automation script to save me 15 seconds every morning.12 -
Started a SIP / VoIP application in Erlang last year, no time to do it now because I'm so busy doing company's project ... 😭

Would like to try realizing a game idea or two I've had a while ago.
I'd also like to put some more work into that webapp I built last year.
Then there's a couple old projects that never went anywhere but I could polish them up a bit.
Kinda want to learn some new languages and CG and digital art and finish 7 online courses I bought years ago.
There's just not enough time in the day.1 -
Perfect my script to automate YouTube videos to tiktok. The script would take a YouTube url as input and then split the video into 3 minute long pieces ( the longest time allowed for tiktok ) and post it to tiktok. I’ve gotten it before but I had to do some fucked shit bc I couldn’t get puppeteer to bypass tiktok’s bot security so it’s super inconsistent1

All of them lol
I'm working on my own streaming service. Yes, I know plex a thing but I've had issues with it and I'm honestly doing this more for the fun of it.
When it's ready, I'll run two versions. One that'll use to access my stuff outside my network, Plex style and one that hosts old movies that are now in the public domain. I'll use that one for demonstrative purposes4 -
It's more of a learning project than something I plan to actually use for anything, but after playing a few classic SNES-era RPGs, I started writing a simple turn-based battle system. I haven't worked on it in ages and would love to get back to it, maybe even turn it into a whole game some day.2

1) Learning to make Android games with Godot3. Really awesome engine to do this. I was impressed when I found out it can use adb to deploy to my phone directly.
2) A sort of a modular multiplatform backup service with optional on the fly encryption/decryption and available for all devices -

I want to finish it so badly. I have everything I just need time.
JJittai
Every time I see the code I wanna dance. I want to work on that so much but I haven't in a long time, I want to refactor everything (I've changed a lot in that time), it will be so delicious.
If you are curious about them you can see them in my github account.
And of course the rest but with these I'd be so satisfied. -
I want to make a game that collects a lot of questions for reuse and where players answer these one after another to make up the most dumb funny stories. Alas, it's in planning stage now.

QA personal voice assistant that runs locally without cloud, it’s like never ending project. I look at it from time to time and time pass by. Chat bots arrived, some decent voice algorithms appeared. There is less and less stuff to code since people progress in that area a lot.
I want to save notes using voice, search trough them, hear them, find some stuff in public data sources like wikipedia and also hear that stuff without using hands, read news articles and stuff like that.
I want to spend, more time for math and core algorithms related to machine learning and deep learning.
Problem is once I remember how basic network layers, error correction algorithms work or how particular deep learning algorithm is constructed and why is that, it’s already a week passed and I don’t remember where I started.
I did it couple of times already and every time I remember more then before but understanding core requires me sitting down with pen and paper and math problems and I don’t have time for that.
Now when I’m thinking about it - maybe I should write it somewhere in organized way. Get back to blogging and write articles about what I learned. This would require two times the time but maybe it would help to not forget.
I’m mostly interested in nlp, tts, stt. Wavenet, tacotron, bert, roberta, sentiment analysis, graphs and qa stuff. And now crystallography cause crystals are just organized graphs in 3d.
Well maybe if I’m lucky I retire in the next decade or at least take a year or two years off to have plenty of time to finish this project. -
TAP - The Art Project.
Started in my college, been working on it for nearly a decade now and during the pandemic I was able to find co-founders and we built an amazing MVP.
But now I got busy with my new job, which is super fun, tech guy got married lol and design guy is little lost.
But over the years, experimenting with people, ideas, and everything around, my idea evolved into something which is loved by everyone I shared it and I can see a huge potential in it.
But meh! Fuck it. Because I am too bored and would rather order a practice pad and start learning to play drums (my childhood dreams), attend more gigs, and live a happier life.
Because the heart wants what the heart wants :)
For the curious ones, you can test the MVP at https://www.tap.prismo.net
And there are few other side projects that I completed which can be found on my portfolio page
https://www.floydimus.prismo.net
I am just wondering shall I redirect my main URL to my portfolio page or keep it pointed to TAP?7 -
Lost Sector
It's a 2D 8-bit-/retro-style platformer based on Warframe
I made the game engine (Dethsquare) for it myself (which is probably still my biggest programming achievement so far), since when I started working on it Unity's 2D support was...lacking1
