One of our clients deploy their own server app. So this happened after a prod deployment. (4am)
*Cellphone rings while sleeping*
Client : we need you on the conference call now. URGENT!
*Gets on conference call*
*Client explain the problem*
*Explaining to the client that the problem is in their side (https connection not working, either network or certificate problem)*
*Client doesn't believe it and pushes me for a fix that I have no control on*
*4 hours later in a heated conversation*
Client : ok problem is on our side. We used our SSL certificate from staging with production and thought it would work.

My client is trying to force me to sign an ethics agreement that would allow them to sue me if found in breach of it. At the same time they are scraping eBay's data without their consent and refuse to sign the licence agreement. Apparently they don't understand irony.3

Actually getting started and learning to plan for a project is also important. Making a portfolio-website for myself with basic web tech and Firebase. Wish me luck! :D2

I lost motivation and focus on the company where I worked for 12 years.
And after 12 years I quit my job last week.
I'll work for a new company next month.
And I won't wait another 12y if I won't be satisfied or disrespected.
Never give up.4 -
Boss: Don't be afraid to break things
Me: *breaks things*
Boss: Why did you break things?
Me: ...
I tried something new. Otherwise, I am hitting a wall. -
I'm not sure if this counts as a rant, but I'll proceed anyway.
So it's been very long since I've used AngularJS and recently I had to use it for some new project. I had to pass data across the states without showing it in the URL. Remembering solving that that thing before, I straight away Googled and got a Stackoverflow question with accepted answered. Delighted, I've gone through it and realising that I didn't up vote that answer, clicked on the up vote button. But as it turns out, I CANNOT up vote it. Not because I didn't have enough reputation, but because it was MY OWN ANSWER!
I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad :/:/:/8 -
The feeling when you realize the DDoS attacker is yourself because of some stupid JavaScript bug which resulted in an infinite loop which happens to make requests to your server...14

Oh yeah that shouldn't take too long right? I mean it's just the front end.
No shut your fucking dumb ass mouth up. It will take long. The front end is very complicated, and your stupid fucking ass who couldn't learn to code is in no position to estimate how long it will take. Do us all a favor and stick to the "business" side. Fucking incompetent idiot.
If you're not a programmer, when it comes to estimating how long a task will take. Just shut the fuck up. Just cause you work in this industry does not qualify you to estimate a task. Just shut the fuck up.1 -
