The first computer I used for serious programming. Z80 CPU, 32kB ROM and 32kB RAM, 5.25" 320kB floppies, and the year was 1982.9 -
Best part of being a dev ?
You don't need college degree.
You will never get bored even if you are alone.
You can learn everything yourself, online.
Last but not the least, Being the dev is awesome in itself. :)5 -
lose all interest in gaming, doesn't feel immersive enough anymore as you start realizing it's just a program under execution3

The best part of being a developer is being to make any tool/software you want!
Need something? Doesn't exist? Make it yourself!2 -
Gentlemen,
Please take a look at the enclosed hard drive and let me know if you'll be able to transfer files/software from it onto a laptop. If so I'll send you a laptop so you can get it done.

Years ago I used this in my thesis paper as an introduction. ( in a sensible way, since the paper was about generative art )...
Stumbled across it again, still funny... Especially the back story.1 -
Your OS is like a penis... Its fine to be proud of it, its fine to tell people about it. But its not fine to force it on other people...11

Never really used a UI framework for web development, always coded each component myself. Im using one now and I have to say it's not that bad!10

I was on this group on facebook and the guy had a genuine question but I tried to crack a joke and he got really pissed and told me to gtfo. I know I'm an asshole. But I'm a humble asshole.6

Made my first chrome extension today. That's why being able to code is great. I wished I could make something easier, and I did.

Yesterday was the first time I worked at the office during weekend.. Was really silent which was nice!1

Trevor Payne on @youtube! His series on Python really helped me to understand some of the inner workings of 2.7.x and a bit of 3! He also just started a c++ playlist which I'm excited to check out ( haven't done any c++ in years ).

Someone wrote a website that will convert cm^3 to mL for you. How useful!
Their JavaScript is, unfortunately, less than optimal for such a task however.4 -
Loved the first project at the university. Your game had to load a map from txt file and create a labirynth with a player inside. It shoud include a bird's eye view and FPS-like - all using only console characters. There were some bonus points - for example for animation or built-in map editor. (language was C)29

So everyone is sharing their work again, so here is mine.
And no 6 monitors, 1 pc isn't overkill.
Well...
Maybe...
But just a little!
Usually, one is spotify, one iChrome, one development (center bottom), one execution of dev, one email&facebook split and one documentation.24
