That was a nice ransomware
-
Also dfox and trogus have gone missing.
-
Everybody says that the first day
-
Nah, I bet Unity lost the gamedevs forever
-
@Lensflare yes, when I want to watch some dev related video I open them in incognito because I don't want them to fuck up my perfect cat videos algorithm
-
@mostr4am a lot of cars, you probably wouldn't like it lol. But it has a decent public transport.
-
Coruña? I lived there for a couple of years.
-
Where is that?
-
Fullest stack
-
But do you own the land or just the mortgages? XD
-
Hi, who are you?
-
Break inside switch statements are just boilerplate code and a source of bugs when you forget them. I'm glad that new languages don't support them.
-
@b2plane by any chance do you have something to do with this? XD
‘It’s okay to poo at work’: Australian health department praised for tackling taboo with humorous campaign
https://theguardian.com/australia-n... -
@AmyShackles the trap with those 4 scenarios is that they don't occur the same number of times. Instead, the 1st and 2nd *combined* ocurr 1/3 of the time (because you only pick A 1/3 of the time) , the 3rd ocurrs other 1/3 of the time and the 4th the other 1/3 of the time. So considering this, at the end you will get 2/3 of switching.
-
@retoor I don't know, too much thinking for a Sunday 🙃
-
@retoor yep, but I guess that by making door_first_choice dependant on door_showman_choice, instead the opposite, you are getting the distribution of probabilities wrong or something
-
@retoor I was going to volunteer as the Java male programmer but nah, the world will be better without Java
-
I think the way you are doing it is fucking up the probabilities somehow because half of the time (instead of a third) the first choice door equals the prize door.
-
I am playing with it and it seems that if I put the order right (i.e. first choose the prize, then the first choice and then the showman choice) I get that switch always wins. Because that way those whiles and ifs have a different logic (the correct one?).
-
That's because images don't work on devRant again
-
I remember doing a simulation too some time ago and I got the canonical 67%/33% result.
I'll take a look at your code later, I'm curious. -
It was just one of the 50 jobs or so I applied to when I was unemployed. I liked that it was just one interview and that's it, meanwhile other companies required 3 or 4 interviews and a technical test or similar shit.

@localpost kanyewest is its own wing

@jestdotty I tend to repress anger most of the time but then explode suddenly when nobody expects
-
@jestdotty it's already happening it seems: https://devrant.com/rants/11235107/...
-
You tried to sting everybody but it isn't working as you expected. So maybe you should go back to being nice.
-
Congrats! Welcome to Engineer Therapy.
-
Meh, it opened in nano a file that doesn't exist anymore.
-
@donkulator for version control, probably
-
@jestdotty you can post the meme in ascii art
