So I just got one of those pop ups saying YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN HACKED.

I decided to call the number, while firing up a Linux virtual machine, running Linux Mint. I customized the home button to look like the Windows start menu logo, and proceeded to let that scammer connect to it.

He was so confused, considering the script he was reading off of was meant for windows. He opened up terminal, and started typing in "tree" and told me that's how many viruses I have.

So... i discovered a "feature" in our portals and i probably fucked up.

basically it was a bug/feature where i was able to see a guy's offer+ctc , from our team

idk how, but it's a combined employee attendence/referrals/interview/payroll portal and i was just exploring while marking my attendance. funnily, it was just for a giy that i interviewed and the one who got selected and joined

recently we were having breakfast in office and i accidentally blurted out this feature. i thought that they might have known too, but turns out they don'T.

later I checked and this guy's letter was now not showing , indicating that it was some kind of bug that got fixed. now am not sure what to do, since this looks like some kind of fireable offence. should i let someone know this? the hierarchy above me is : SSE, TL , past TL( now tl of other team but he was the one who took the 2nd round ) and VP

I love coding, but there are some days when it drives me absolutely crazy. Like when I spend hours trying to debug a single line of code, only to realize that the problem was actually something completely different.

Or when I'm working on a project and I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing, only to discover that there's a better, faster, and more elegant way to do it. It's like my entire codebase is taunting me: "You thought you were good at this, didn't you?"

But you know what? Despite all of the frustrations and setbacks, I keep coming back to coding. Because there's nothing quite like the feeling of finally getting that piece of code to work, or seeing your project come together in a way that you never thought possible.

Coding can be a rollercoaster of emotions, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Here's to all the developers out there who know what it's like to ride that coding rollercoaster, and who keep coming back for more.

They tried to force update a Windows 10 Home machine to Windows 11. Nobody clicked okay on anything. It had icon in task bar indicating it would install it on reboot. I had to go into the update settings to click "no for now". Fuck you microsoft. Eat shit and die. Just leave my shit alone.

why can't we ++'d our own rant? At least we will have 1 ++'d instead of 0.
