The thing with well illuminated and eyes is that what matters is contrast. If your eyes have very contrasting things in front they get tired because they cannot adjust properly to one 'setting'.

One time I had a sheep costume with me at work. I told my coworkers about it and got a challenge to wear it. Aaand now I do occasionally because it's fun ;-)
