Make good connections with the engineers in the company. Persuade them to refer you for the job, if you're lucky you get to skip the interview.

Two phrases devs say to save their ass:
1. That's how this algorithm works.
2. That's the framework's / platform's / integration's / API's limitation.2 -
Just realized Windows 10 update "Restart Now" button doesn't have a confirmation/cancel screen unlike the normal power options.
Learned it the hard way when I just wanted to change the time it restarts and clicked restart now by accident.

When you need to work with the register of your microcontroller but you fuck up the addresses. I wasted so much time looking at my code to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I tried everything, looked up the datasheet again on how to initialize everything and in the end I fucked up the fucking register addresses. Three addresses had, at the offset, one 0 instead of two.

Work hard. Seriously. If its your first job, prepare yourself for 1 year in front. Learn programming, repeat, repeat more, fail, gain expertise. Surprise them with everything you do, blow the others out of the water with your knowledge.

I asked a junior dev to convert y axis value to dollars and render the same on a chart. This is what he does.9

A friend of mine asked me if I could review his code. I said ok and immediately regretted it when he sent me 250 lines of .docx text. In PDF. So I couldn't even copy-paste it.4
