So, sometimes, when I'm developing across the stack, I'll write the backend part first. When I'm done, I put on my best TV voice and say "meanwhile, in the frontend" before I do that part.
I'm weird.3 -
I've always thought it was camelCase and PascalCase. Someone just told me it's CamelCase and humbleCamelCase. What's the story?!?!5

non-rant;
is anyone aware of a fairly comprehensive JavaScript/css assessment for hiring a junior dev? just want a boilerplate assessment structure that I can expand on. it would be an untimed take-at-home.1 -
So I don't even know if I should be mad;
person hired at the same time as me has been given a kind of manager title, they do a lot of logistical (trello, department liaison) stuff, in addition to code. Were they promoted to manager? Or have they just given a bunch of non-code stuff to do, and I should be thrilled not to be bothered with it? -
if you want it done that way then fucking do it yourself because that shit makes no sense to me, and you have not adequately made your case to me as to why it makes sense, and since I'm writing it it seems prudent for it to make goddamn sense to me.6

anyone else giggle when someone says "this method takes a dict", or " wow that's a big dict", or really anything that sounds like they are talking about penises.3

Python: I heard you like importing stuff explicitly, so I made sure you had to import every mother-fucking thing you need. Even the things that you obviously need and couldn't possibly do anything without.
What's that? You want more import statements than actual code? Look no further than Python, my friend. At least it scales, amirite? -
that moment when you have to look up how to spell the word 'table' because you read/typed it so many times that it doesn't look right anymore.3
