Installed Fedora in a partition on my old Acer laptop having never used Linux before. It's so much faster than Windows 10!
And the terminal is pretty 😍10 -
Month #1 at CS University. We write C on the terminal, with nano. No vi no ide no highlighting. Neither makefile is allowed. Professors don't know what git is.
I am pissed off.32 -
Note: our PM is new.
PM: can you help me?
Me: sure, what do you need?
PM: where do the folders with all the techie stuff come from?
I had no context and spent the next 20 minutes trying to work out what folders she was on about. Turned out she wanted to know where the client side folders on our development server come from, was going to explain 'Gulp' and 'Branch' to her but I think I'd be there for the rest of the day... Why do 'tech' companies hire non-tech-savie people.4 -
I have to work with an unbelievable stubborn (and incompetent) "project Manager)
He just actually tried to convince us that leading 0 in some" hexadecimal" strings get truncated.
I know that does not sound like something to lose the mind over, but these wrong facts do come up ever so often. It knaws on my sanity.6 -
Why in the flying motherfuck can't people remember the fact that other people might have to read their code?! If you're not gonna name things properly, and mess everything up with utterly useless and garbage comments (all comments are useless and garbage), then the least you can do is fucking format and indent it properly!! GAWD FAKKIN' DAMNIT!!4

If you're stuck with something and just cannot figure out where the issue is in your code, there is nothing that helps you more than talking the problem out with someone.
Most of the time you'll end up figuring out the solution yourself while describing the problem to him/her. =)2 -
Today I was hired to pentest a company's framework. While getting directions on what needs to be tested I counted 4times the sentence:
"We are a multi-awarded company for our security, virtually nothing gets past our firewalls".
Most of the PCs had Win9810 -
Sometimes while using a app or a website I think:
"Who was the idiot who did this and thought it was a good idea?"
But then I remember about the countless "features" my projects have and realise I probably would have done the same or worst -
I think lot less developers would smoke if they could replaced the warnings on cigarettes with errors.2

>MS becomes `platinum` member @LinuxFoundation
>Google joins .NETfoundation
>Trump becomes the president ??????????
>In India 500 and 1000 rupees notes are now worth toilet paper except we don't actually wipe - we wash ;)
>For me RIP $copes and controllers and my year worth of experience :'(8 -
Development is a team sport.
If you think you can do something better but your team doesn't understand it or can't work with them. You have two options: Teach them or don't do it.
This task seems easy but teach and tell are different things. Prepare to repeat things over and over again and give up your own time to share the knowledge.9 -
Microsoft announced Visual Studio 2017. Yeah, Party.
I am so hyped, because with it comes C#7.0. I am speaking of tuples, pattern matching and local functions. This will be great. Soon ☺️🎉6 -
Microsoft is now a member of the Linux Foundation.
While the dev community makes OS wars, the company and the foundation is making love. Take them as role models.9
