Metal is still mostly good, so I'm fine.

But some of the older bands have changed over the years && now they suck, so there's that as well.

@antigermgerm Sure, the guy was the main one behind the push against Napster. Still, there are other good bands beside Metallica.

You can enjoy the art even though the artist is a scumbag.

It's just that very reason why I still listen to 'As I Lay Dying'.

Is this permission to start listening to Lostprophets again? It doesn't feel right, but I enjoyed the music.

@D-4got10-01 I think art should be contextualised in hindsight. That said you don't have to go back that far for homophobia to be widely considered acceptable in media. And not much further back from that for sexism. Like 2010 for homophobia? 1990 for sexism? That's really recent. Like, that's tv reruns of obscure TV now.

@atheist Different people, different opinions.

I have no problems w/ people rejecting art when the artist is fucked up.

As for me, I detach the artist from the art.

I still like the old Disney animations.
