retoor85392dThat's on my mind too. And what price would you put on chrome, it's like buying the internet. We should consider something non commercial and find a way to compensate Google. If OpenAI or other company takes over and had to pay for the browser, they will screw us even harder. And how is Yahoo still a thing.

the gov doesn't want to make tech weaker
they control tech through backdoor deals to enslave humanity
just saying
if they need to PR wash they may on the surface disjoint them but they like their facism and the system was built on purpose this way (DARPA made the internet), as a silent weapon. so it will stay because it offers too much power to our dictators. why would they ever give it up?
it's not that all roads lead there, it's that the "solutions" are still solutions by the same people that control everything so nothing changes -
retoor85392d@D-4got10-01 haha. I laugh about people having a pornhub account and manage their porn there.

I was wondering, let say a court forces google to be separated from Chrome, shouldn't become it's own independent entity?
Do we really want OpenAI, Yahoo, Meta, or any of those big corporate to acquire it?
Because who else can buy it? And I don't think any of them want to acquire it "for the greater good" either.
Weakening the tight of Google on the modern web is probably a good thing, but if it's just about giving it to someone else to abuse it, we might just slow the problem a bit instead of resolving it?
