dfox426038y@KeyWeeUsr great idea about YouTube, we'll work on getting that up.
@Minzkraut do you know what the Spotify submission process is like? I'm looking into it but just curious. It would definitely be good to get it on there. -
@dfox I'm not sure how it works with podcasts but I know that there are sites that distribute content to Spotify (and other platforms) for free but take a percentage of the revenue.

rozzzly16718yHoly shit you got the author of the "Pragmatic Programmer"?!?!?
damn you got dem connections. -
Yeah6916288y@dfox and @trogus:
A question to you both: Andrew Hunt told us a lot about agile development. So how much of his advices do you already apply in your development of devRant?
For example, it was important to Andrew that all code which goes to production has to be reviewed by at least two. Do you do that? -
dfox426038yThanks for the awesome feedback everyone, we really appreciate it!
@Yeah69 great question! I hope everything Andy talked about and the stuff that makes CI awesome eventually applies to us, but right now I don't think it does. Simply because I'm more or less our only developer right now, so in reality, I don't really have anyone who can review my code for the project. Tim does a lot of CSS/HTML/JavaScript, but we don't really do code reviews in general as we're working pretty quickly and there are no current plans to expand our team. If we ever get the opportunity to hire another developer (or more!) then this will definitely change and we will implement an effective CI flow.
@JakeHL right now we record it in pieces. We'd love to do it live one day though! I think for that we'd need w knowledgeable producer or someone who could help handle all the technical stuff since I think that would be hard for us to do while also doing a live show. -
dfox426038yI got this idea from @kevbost - feel free to suggest any featured guests you'd like to see us try to get! Obviously no guarantee we could get them, but we've had good luck with our first 3 guests so it doesn't hurt to try :)

yarwest26658y@dfox is it possible for you guys to get the podcast on SoundCloud? I know it preloads a lot of the audio when you start listening so that's great for my wifi-less bike rides :)

Loved it and can't wait for more :)
I'm glad you all got a kick out of my username ;)
p.s. I didn't get a notif for being mentioned in the post, is this a bug? Near-future feature, or...? -
dfox426038yThe podcast has been added to YouTube, SoundCloud and Stitcher. More info here: https://devrant.io/podcasts/...
@cube5 I'm not sure, but he probably couldn't reveal it anyway :)
@yarwest done!
@fatlard1993 haha yeah that was awesome. We purposely don't do tagging in rants right now (only in comments). -
After Apple allows us to delete their apps I have a reason to redownload the podcast app

The devRant Podcast is finally here!! We're happy to announce the release of episode #0 - featuring Andy Hunt (known for The Pragmatic Programmer, rubber duck debugging, DRY, and much more). We can't thank Andy enough for agreeing to be on our first podcast episode and it was so enjoyable to interview him.
We also want to give a huge thanks to our two devRant users who helped us out and came on to talk about their rants - @silhoutte and @sway. We also greatly appreciate all of the questions that were submitted by community members. We really wanted to ask all of them since there were a lot of good ones, but we had to narrow it down a little as Andy was already kind enough to go over the 20 minutes we had originally asked for. This episode features questions from @casanovanoir, @fatlard1993, and @3K-Vengeance.
You can get all the links to the podcast here: https://devrant.io/podcasts/... (available on iTunes, Google Play, and we've provided the raw mp3).
If you'd like to see it on any other platforms in the future, please let us know. And like always, feedback is appreciated since we're new to this and still learning our way when it comes to podcasting. If you enjoy the show, please rate it to help us out :)
Thanks everyone!
