I see that with a lot of companies including where I work. Where you see something that is up your alley and your customers might want of course your want to provide it. When you have recourses like that why wouldn't you?
Problem is that they are so powerful that they topple innovative companies. This is not a good thing.

Saying they are not innovative is bs and am insult to the engineers. Just look at the open source stuff they published and the Oculus has come a long way. Look I'm not a fan of FB or the Zuck (don't even have an account) but I can't say they don't do anything interesting.
