Someone who can't even tag post right is trying to build such a system by being a full stack dev.

    Lol

I think the right balance would be to not use JS for your whole stack.

Just in case, here's a list of good use cases for JS:

Press the fucking joke/meme button when posting a fucking joke/meme. That allows display filter by category in the rant overview.

All cans are even, there's something seriously wrong with your docket config and css if they are just as big as your JS files 🤭

full stack = "we're gonna hire one person only because we don't wanna pay 5 salaries. you can do it right?"

@darksideofyay maybe some of us enjoy being full stack and doing it by choice?

@hack doesn't mean what i said isn't true 🤷 it just means you're fine being exploited

@darksideofyay well, none of my full stack experiences was like you described and no one have ever forced me to do something I don't want to do. Its more like "sure man, do whatever you like to do"

@hack that doesn't unprove my point
  • 4
@darksideofyay how am I being exploited if I am doing whatever I want to do and my company supports me financially for doing it. Guess I'm missing something

@hack if you're fine with it, you're fine with it 🤷

@darksideofyay you don’t have a point because you don’t demonstrate how being fullstack is tantamount to being exploited. It’s therefore hard to "unprove" your point

@black-kite english is not my first language, so i forget the words sometimes. if you prefer, i could talk about this in portuguese

what i meant about being exploited is exactly what the joke was trying to demonstrate, you're trying to be "jack of all trades, master of none", so there's no guarantee your work will be good enough. also the pressure to deliver is still up, there's still deadlines and standards to meet, but they're not opening up those other spots, it's all on you to do it

but if you're fine with that 🤷

Missing one and you will be fool stack developer, right .?
  • 1
    @darksideofyay you’re English is excellent! :)
I work on a project where one fullstack dev is enough. I definitely feel like the jack of all trades, master of none. Maybe I’ll want to specialize one day but for now I’m happy with what I’m doing and if I were forced to do something I didn’t want to do, that’s when I would feel like I’m being exploited

@black-kite this just gets on my nerves cause i see these poor devs juggling 5 or 6 positions and the administration is a nightmare about deadlines. that's a common occurrence in startups, and what they say is usually "we don't have the money 🙁", like that makes it ok... idk it's a good excuse to overwork employees
