So this is going to sound perverted or just weird for some of you, but I’m honestly just curious (whole sentence sounds comical). Making a porn site is not that difficult, but how the hell do people get traffic? Seriously, the amount of money one could make is ridiculous.

Traffic is one aspect, but another is getting assets for which you have a legal right to charge money. Do you create your own content? Do you buy content? Do you license content from existing owners? How do you get people to use your site over other options, especially if other sites might also have the same content for less money?

Like any business, there are a thousand things to consider, and a million ways it can go wrong.

Biggest problem are legal issues.

Rest is pretty simple: Porn is an industry.

It doesn't gain much interest in the news, as society still has it's stigmata regarding porn, but sprinkle a bit of love on "erotic art fairs" / clubs / social media and traffic comes.
