Celes6878yDistrib have nothing to do with the language you use. It's more about how software are managed and the global mentality of the community and the maintainer. For example I hate Ubuntu maintainer xp for a distrib 'out of the box' manjaro (arch based) is cool, there is a lot of windows manager that you can easily pick.

iAmNaN68458yI use CentOS. It is easy to install, and is as simple or as complex as you want to make it. And it isn't Ubuntu.

Give Manjaro or Mint a try.
Didn't touch Arch, better spend a week watching paint dry. -
Strazil4448y@SmartCoder Look up SemiCode os.. it has everything pre installed especially for programming and coding.

Personally, I've been running Arch with Openbox as my window manager for years (maybe 6+ now). That said, I have to agree with another commenter... The distro has no barring on what language you choose in. That's an IDE thing...
Emacs. I love me some Emacs! -
PetriJ10488yI think it also kind of depends where you come from. If you used Windows before I would recommend Mint, if you come from mac I would recommend Ubuntu.
Back to the question, I would recommend Mint since I came from windows.
Then you choose desktop enviroment👌🏻
