don't even tell me. we have to import/export sheets because normies are too resistant to any change in that matter
-
you've got it all wrong.
excel is made as a protection mechanism!
the point of excel is to keep people who would store structured data in an excel-file AWAY from real databases!
just think about what havoc they would wreak if we couldn't fob them off with spreadsheets. society as we know it would be over, and for a change, i mean that in a dystopic way. -
@darksideofyay i completly disagree. Write a program once to sort ur mysql and use it all the time instead of having to enter excel stuff manualy
-
@joewilliams007 yes but have you worked with excel data filled by morons? cause i do, daily. it's super annoying to import that stuff because it never conforms to a standard. they change the columns names, the order, the data type, it's hell

max199313732yMost of the Excel file contains random shit, duplicated shit. Also most of them include redundant graphs to Show useless shit.
Store the minimal amount of data needed in an appropriate storage system, even a flatfile(Excel and DB are actually just flatfiles, just heavy encoded to reduce storage requirements) can be used. -
.... Actual large structured datasets ?
I used to import address lists from them or generate reports in that format
