I see two faces on the photo. This isn't right. Aspect ratio and camera position also could use some work.
-
Skills section is dreadfully empty. It only says "Hello everyone!" with some streamer's facecam.
-
--Bob--123y@vintprox it's a video. At some point in the video a div appears below the video where it shows the skills.
-
C0D4669443yI honestly, nope where do I look first?
So much colour and so little content smashed together.
It's confusing.
Is there a v2? -
@--Bob-- the point is, it's not evident for user that they should press it for video to appear. There is no slightest indicator that I can press it - no cursor changing, no "Play" icon.
Better yet, let the script observe user scrolling and load YouTube embed automatically, if initial load time is a concern.
And "div" you're talking about doesn't appear anywhere. It's probably getting blocked by something? Test in both Firefox and Chromium-based browser. -
--Bob--123y@C0D4 not yet.
Tbh I know that it's a mess. I'm trying to keep the good parts, remove unnecessary parts and add parts if needed. -
--Bob--123y@vintprox that's a good point. Like your previous points.
I'm definitely noting them all down -
C0D4669443y@--Bob-- no problem
There's also this diamond, there's no visual clue I have to touch it (mobile) to be able to see what's behind it.
Then the second diamond - dark yellow, looks like it should do the same, but doesn't. -
@--Bob-- Oh I see the "div" you're talknig about. But user, like myself, may be expecting from a video under the Skills section to conveniently list the skills. At least, if something is expected to appear somewhere else, it should be preceded with transition. Everything should feel attached, connected somehow.

seems like a lot of effort has been put, but too much information is not attractive.
-
dootlurk6013yThis looks like it was designed for a very odd viewport size - it looks unnecessarily huge on my 24" HD monitor but if I zoom in to a mobile size it's still in 2 columns...
-
--Bob--123y@C0D4 the 2nd one should include a picture of a flying guy and the same colors as the rest of the hexagons.
Maybe something is blocking it? -
On top of what already has been said...
- HTML doesn't even validate.
- Complete misunderstanding of what headings are. h1...h4 do not mean "heading in different font size".
- Images lack alt text and width/height.
- The top level navigation hexagon is bad because it hides the navigation even on desktop.
- The HTML is a non-semantic mess, but that's common with any of the trash that goes for CSS frameworks. To top it off, tons of inline styles which is even worse. We're not in the 1990s caves with HTML3 anymore.
- Did you invent your own HTML, or what's the point of all these non-standard tags?
- Responsive design does not mean "zoom everything out". -
kiki349583yWhere to start?
- Inside <body>, you have <wrapper> tag that is invalid from an HTML standpoint. Also, it scrolls, just like the body, so you have a scroll inside another scroll, and it works awfully on touchscreens and trackpads.
- your font-family rules in CSS are not correct. You use "font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Free";" and this of course end up rendering your name in Times New Roman.
Other than that, there is a huge amount of messy details. Comments above won't fix everything, as the whole new approach is needed in case of this website. -
Unless you really want to express different things, use the same tense and structure for your descriptions.
"I've made..."
"I did create.."
"This is a..."
"A server monitor that refreshes..."
"I have gotten into..."
Other things: Improper colors. The images just don't look great, mostly dark or showing improper design. Dark/"brighter" option is hidden in a menu - and as the menu does not have any more meanings, it is superfluous (and misleading).
Regarding your imprint: Your street address (or any other "ladungsfähige Adresse") unfortunately is NOT optional, as it has the purpose to make it possible for courts to send you letters to, and they will not send you an email first. -
rox798353yMaybe my internet speed. But need work on loading speed and zoom.. .. and on the first screen.. How do I know I need to click ?? For first 5-10 mins its just plain box until I accidentally clicked it.. maybe you can make that auto open..
-
@sbiewald Which is why it's better to leave out the imprint crap at all unless it's a commercial site. In particular on a website that is not even targeting Germans because it's in English.
Can you give me an honest feedback about this website?
