@angular/cli are you maybe a girl?

Completed Angular 2 course on codeschool, really liked improvements and simplicity of Angular over Angularjs. Decided to do quick start guide in official website. Oh my f**king god... I need to setup webpack, typescript linter, typings, polyfills etc angular2-cli is no better, crawling with errors... why... why can't one just start a project and work instead spending loads of timing configuring all of that... AND WHY WE CANT HAVE PROPER SUPPORT FOR LATEST FEATURES...

I don't even know what I am ranting about... I just wish to spend more time creating things than configuring for ages development environment.

So I am making something on angular and I got everything running in ng serve(development environment) , after handling all issues and showing it to my boss man he approves and asked to put it up on prod for a demo , doesn’t sound like an issue , I make the prod build on cli and BAM! 16 errors ? No issues right?, I’ll just google the issue. Googles.... there aren’t no clear solutions to it as the angular version keeps changing and nobody knows what broke it, I mean people have the issue,but like 100 reasons that can cause it,

P.S. I like angular, but it’s like a underdeveloped framework, too many issues and too many changes

First-time goona work on frontend(my worst nightmare).

Cant take help as I am the lead(name-sake, small team, I have 6month more experience than others)

Fuck...Fuck...I missed writing CLI apps.

When I first started reading about Angular 4 I must admit I was a bit excited. It seemed like it fit the company enterprise requirements. The improvements it offered on paper looked quite good for our use case. HOWEVER... After writing Angular 4 for two weeks I'm seriously doubting I made the right decision. Testing is a dependency hell and there are two ways to build and structure your application. The webpack way and the SystemJS way. The grunt way and the angular-cli way. For fuck sake Google. And the documentation is somewhat half supporting one thing, half supporting another. So when you're using angular-cli with webpack, you're pretty much screwed when we're talking about documentation. It has now taken me almost 50 hours to write a pretty basic Angular app, made it compliant with our staging environment and writing a Makefile for it, since I haven't been able to find any same way to provide custom arguments when building it with the angular-cli --aot option. So fuck you Google. Luckily I've found a way to modularize it so much that I'll be able to reuse the core in the future. So I guess I got that thing going for me, which is nice... -.-' *sigh*

That's pretty awesome -_- angular decides to simply discontinue older (half a year) versions of their cli tool by overwriting the older releases with an update notice. Causing my project (jsRant) to break until I update to the newest version.

This new version requires a different configuration so I have to update my entire project just to be able to deploy to production again....

A comment from the heart: f*** you angular.

Finally convinced the senior engineer I'm working with to let me use Angular CLI for our front end because of all the added things we get compared to what he had originally setup for our Angular project (plus it's a phenomenal tool). I was slowly adding in things to make the app better (more like a PWA), but what pushed him over the edge was the platform-webworker package letting us off load some heavy tasks into a web worker. I'm excited for the improvements coming!

Why is it just so damn annoying to configure?

Just make it like gulp or so where you have an actual idea on the workflow, rather than just throwing in plugins at random and let magic happen without knowing wtf is going on.

Tried to update an ejected Angular4 project to angular 5 ... after 2h i gave up and dropped some stuff to use angular-cli again.

If you have @angular/cli installed in your environment then you must try "ng make-this-awesome"

Angular Cli has been fucking gaslighting me for years. It gets itself in a twist and starts complaining about everything and anything: can't find this, you didn't import that, this is declared twice. NO IT FUCKIN ISNT. FUCKING UPDATE WHEN IM WORKING YOU PIECE OF SHIT.

If killing the ng serve and restarting it fixes the 'problems' THERE NEVER WAS A FUCKING PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH. FUCK YOU ANGULAR

Just gave a try to Stackblitz browser based code editor. I tried it for developing Angular app. It's amazing, supports npm and some Angular CLI features as well!

$ sudo pacman -S npm
$ npm install -g @angular/cli
$ ng new crap
$ du -h crap
366M crap/
me like: "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!!1"
$ rm -rf crap
$ npm uninstall -g @angular/cli
$ sudo pacman -Rs npm

Angular gets shit done. So we basically bake cookies in their angular-cli? Its fuarking great! I choose the RED pill!

how many newbies in angular-2-cli after Google's announcement?

Angular cli was installed globally with some "more up-to-date" version and locally for a project with a slightly older version. On a local machine. No problem.
The same thing on a VM: nope, module not found error. node trying to run a node_modules install script from within windows directory, in which nothing node-related exists ... ??

How to set up first app by using angular cli.. On windows I tried but it not executed proper...

Loopback 4 really is pulling me out of the expressjs shithole... It really feels like I'm avoiding a lot of tedious work.

I've preferred typescript ever since angular 2 came out, and the 'slower' comment is invalidated by the fact that, when working on projects that are distributed between multiple devs, are marked by silent errors and serialization issues, and can change datasource types between customers, then the benefits of typescript and loopback's CLI far outweigh any potential slowdowns that may be caused. If you can find me an alternative that does this better, please let me know.
