At this point there is'nt a law to prevent me from discriminating against Political Ideologies in employment. Its the only way to prevent your company from being infected by the virus.

So, someone is trying to catfish me in some social media.
And I can make a few guesses about who it might be. Or maybe I'm being paranoid and all the accounts contacting me randomly, are just spam bots.

But this isn't the first time. From a hateful ex, to someone I turned down because I had zero feelings for, to even random stalkers who found me online and thought that I was the best choice for obsessing over, I've seen different types of online ghosts.

Like... why is it that it takes so much for some people to be decent? Why can't you just say it to my face (aka directly), get your answer, and then fuck off? And if you're actually obsessing, it is not my problem. See a fucking therapist.

Anywho, aside from the wish to be able to occasionally deliver an online slap, and occasionally wishing that everyone on the internet had an ID to be found IRL, I would like for internet to be a less hateful/harassing/terrorizing/bullying/discriminating place. I like internet. I have so many awesome friends on the internet.

I just needed to rant about it so it doesn't weigh on my mind. Now I'm gonna go back to ignoring them and living my own life peacefully. I hope y'all have a good day. 🙂

I don't profess to know the whole story, but what is it with the (what seems to me to be) overly-fragile, cry-bully mentality of the Node.js community and its various branches? The current mess is not the first time strongly opinioned, overly zealous loud-mouths have driven the ship.

Throughout the history of time, teams/groups of people have been made up of different characters. Some are nice, some aren't really and everyone has varied characteristics. There seems to be a drive to completely flatten the behaviour, beliefs and attitudes of any sort of gathering, and it makes me so mad. Some people are so obsessed with their ideas of equality, diversity, inclusivity and safe spaces that they can't see how negative and discriminating those attitudes actually are.

I fully accept that certain behaviours should not be tolerated and should be called out. And communities and societies will organically decide what those are.

But when you raise an issue, approach it like grown up and thrash it out to a resolution - don't throw your toys out of the pram and put on a real public show, targeting and scapegoating other individuals when you don't get your way! This is childish and narcissistic. If this is your only course of action, you should realise you haven't a strong argument.

I've ranted here before about how the mainly social media discussions on any subject drive us all to extreme ends. And this is just another example. It's wrong and narrow minded and not remotely progressive - the opposite of what those who should loudest claim to be.

I am sick of people discriminating against programming we are the ones that create the software for the parademocs and we are the ones that make the games, so this has to stop.

Black box. It does seem to put messages with an URL in a certain category though, but also that's not always correct. It's trained on 3000 normal dR messages, and 3000 spam dR messages. 6000 dR messages in total. Many epochs but not good for use yet. The idea that the system could classify without discriminating new users is from the table. That discrimination is needed as a safe margin. Original spam system is a bit simple, but it doesn't do false positive and works great. Still, I want to make smth advanced out of it for the sake of education. Tomorrow I'll have my neural networks book. Probably over two weeks I have some good insights how to improve this all. New hobby :)

(pretrained 3b models are fine for recognizing spam btw. But it costs resource. 8 CPU's 100%. A self trained model pure on spam doesn't and is fast. With a pretrained model you can't do mass classification.)

I live in a place where there is very low discrimination, and even if people make rasist, or sexist, or possibly discriminating remarks, 90% of the time they are just shrugged of or laughed at by the "offended" party.

Then I read stuff from around the world and I am just amazed by the lack of tolerance the rest of the world seams to have.

Like getting offended by people stating any little, insignificant, unrelated thing...even to the point of legal action...

Why are people so easly offended? I get history and past repressions and inequality, but in most cases these reactions are just tantrums or just being a pussy (no matter the actual gender).

I love devRant, but one thing that I don't like is that all improvements are only coming to the mobile apps, and you can only become devRant++ using a mobile app. This is kinda discriminating against all of us who for various reasons cannot or will not use mobile apps. I am a dev; I use computers with big displays , (preferrably fullsize) keyboard and mouse. I do own a smartphone (a *real* one, with buttons, not a despicable touchscreen), but I use it for SMS/MMS and phone calls only. Mobile apps are just useless to me. The screen is too small and the numeric keypad doesn't lend itself for typing anything but brief texts. A bigger mobile phone wouldn't be a mobile phone. If it doesn't fit into the pocket and cannot be comfortably held against the ear, I might just as well carry around a laptop and then we're back where this rant started. I am a dev and love computers. Sure, I can develop for mobile phones too if needed, I'm just not the end-user.

It's outrageous that Atlassian are discriminating Firefox! Our intranet is based on Confluence and works in Edge, but in Firefox the page turns blank after a few seconds, once the blue progress bar reaches the right end. Mozilla should sue Atlassian. Or is it the other way round?
