TL;DR Know your field of knowledge and accept help from outside.
Alright I work devops and I swear to fucking god the next dev that tells me that their networking idea/solution is better or outright ignores me then proceeds to ask for help is going to get a firm punch in the balls. If you're a lady you're going off the roof because you don't have balls. I am open to ideas but when they're involving a 10/100 mini switch or python routing I'm going to kick their ass.

Being a front end develop of mostly PHP projects and also designer of everything for the company, probably best that I use OS X most of the time.

My place doesn't agree. They realise that I can't use Windows because it's support of PHP is laughable at best. However, they don't understand how difficult it is find a good quality piece of Ubuntu software for designing responsive websites. It just doesn't exist as far as I'm aware.
