When I realized "I" could change a computer's code. It was a very strong "I am the master now!" moment. I could be Jedi or Sith and control the destiny of this calculating machine for good or ill! I was the master of the computer universe! Also, I wanted to make games and graphics and sounds!

Now I write software that could legit kill someone really really if done wrong. Unlikely, but possible. Not the power I wanted...

One of the first computers I ever wrote code on was a 286. Quick Basic!

Probably when I heard about (as it was then) this new fangled "internet" thing going around.

Suddenly computers weren't isolated individuals, or networks, but had the power to talk to *other* computers as well, and exchange information with each other, and then take decisions and action based on that information - even talking to other computers in turn!

The potential for what this could do blew my mind a bit as a kid - and I'm not sure anyone, myself included, even then understood anywhere close to what the full impact would be in a few decades time.

Is there a better feeling than a complex set of features working seemlessly after a long eeek of work ?

Well it all started in grade six I believe and it's all downhill from there.

When it started paying my bills and my hobbies 😎 Don’t get me wrong, I like my job, but at the end of the day it’s just a source of income that allows me to have a super nice life outside of work.

Programming deeply inspired me before it became my day job. Before Facebook conquered the front-end and API code space. Before Electron apps. Before D. Trump became president. Each of those dealt a hit to either my passion for dev or motivation to create software for others

I'm not sure if I'd say I'm "deeply inspired" but I spent more time coding a personal project this week than I've spent on any other project in a similar timeframe for the past several years. All because I wanted to build a personal dashboard/startpage that queries the APIs of a couple of MMOs I play and displays it nicely on a grid of cards.

I wrote my own API wrapper, built a Flask site for the first time in years, tried out a few things I've never done before, and stuffed the whole thing in a docker container.

I'm no web developer (my job is more about the infrastructure than the web apps which run on it) so I'm learning a lot just through trial and error and it's actually kind of fun.

Exp. when programming deeply inspired you?

I remember being inspired in school as I learned to program floating colorful circles in a lesson. They "bounced" off the screen borders

I found it interesting cause honestly I don't think so I have skill that can pay my bills except programming :)...
So programming saves me... but with time I fell in love with code.. solving real life problems.. providing solutions.. Now Its like I am addict to code ..
