@ganjaman I know right? Everyday is a learning day.
Thank for listen to my TED Talk. -
Update, big, day long team meeting. Not a single mention for over an hour, and a very brief connection to yours truly.
And, I didn't feature in the 'teams' history. I didn't even join!
Do I fight or go for better opportunities elsewhere..... -
@Stuxnet not unless you're into voyeurism
-
@irene Aye, I'm referring to praise. I probably should have used a better term 😂
-
Ledge! I did that a couple of times over the weekend. I took my Bose Bluetooth speaker and blasted tunes 😂
-
These fuckers really grind my gears. Unfortunately they don't stop when becoming more mature developers and get giddy over to new shinny unproved frameworks or applications.
-
@Phippsaurus 😂 I've had it for a while. It's was that or code jockey.
-
Why not tell your scum master to shove their points and time frames up where the sun doesn't shine?
We're developers, not code money's that love to be shoved in a dark cupboard and whipped to make a shit product. -
I wonder if Wix Devs get Code Academy ad's, or basic how to write HTML & CSS tutorials 🤔
-
Run PiHole for starters, stop them nasty ads and malware.
Then the world's your oyster. I recommend trying some hardware type projects using the GPIO header, basic led/button/sensor stuff then work up to something more complex like home automation or smart home stuff.
I'm looking at an irrigation project to stop killing my plants from lack of watering. -
What carp. I went to Uni with very little knowledge but came out knowing more than enough to get a epic Jr job which barely lasted a couple of months untl getting promoted.
One thing I wish non Uni types would go and learn would be acedemic subjects like project management, agile and document writing as they are key skills in today's businesses. I've yet to see someone self taught to know this when walking into a job, causing months worth of training and excessive time wasting. -
@ryanmhoffman I've seen people mention that the more you use it, the faster it becomes down to the cache on the Pi. It's a shame you can't download a pre-cache, unless I'm missing something.
-
@intromatt I hope to use DNScrypt and some VPN app in the near future, which would hopefully make use of the marginal speed boost.
I'm amazed the Pi doesn't come with a gigabit port and usb3 ports. -
Epic stuff! I've set mine up on a RPi3 via ethernet and powered by the router. No problems so far. I reccomend upload a shed load of blacklists when you can find them.
Next step for me is to look into a usb ethernet module to up the speed from 100 to 400mbs.
What upstream DNS are people using? I opted for both OpenDns and Google on IPv4 and IPv6, not knowing which would be best but so far so good. -
Ohh my days! Wikipedia is a a great source for information, just read the source article fully first and reference that. Simples 😁 You can reference Wikipedia but you usually get marked down big time.
-
Worked and work with BE Devs who mention this and how HTML and CSS is easy, but who's pull requests get rejected based on shoddy mark up and way off the mark in terms of standards? Not mine 😂 Not to mention the abuse of using ID's for reusable styles and JS electors.
-
Ripped from a job interview meme 🤔 Why the old material??
-
Don't cuss Uni WiFi! Being able to connect from my halls from the building next door saved me not only endless boring evenings on a crappy hard wired network, plus it saved me a fortune in 'Premium Internet' charges 😉
-
I slowly migrated over to OSx over a few years, mainly for design purposes but also made development much easier. Unfortunately no OS is perfect and covers everything so I keep my gaming rig running Win10.
-
Are you greek at all??
-
@Ashkin definitely, this was more for less active minded employees that didn't realise Google can show you which registry property to change back 😉
-
Loooool, so they are after a Full Stack Developer not a Frontend Developer. Recruitment consultants are morons in its purest form.
-
We're safe for now Devs, I've not met one PM or BA that can produce a precise enough specification that could be interpreted directly into a program let alone a developer being able to build a program based on it 😂
-
Typical PM, PO or Backender decision to 'just' add another option. Or alternatively the UI gave up putting up with shit and said do what you god damn well please as you won't listen to me.
-
@Double-A if you're going to use a plugin that's likely to get deleted over night then you should really fork it and point your dependency manager to that URL. The chances of that are quite slim if you're working on large systems that must be stable 100% of the time. I've been brought up in an industry that plugins are the very last resort if a custom built functionality wouldn't be cost effective. If a plugin is used it must meet a very high criteria.
-
@mystiksky Wix needs to go! Cough cough Putin 😉
-
@Mobile I completely agree with you, that's if you after a blogging website as that's it's sole purpose. It's all about choosing the right tool for the job at the end of the day. Unfortunately, the majority, use wp just because they can and for a very very very basic website. Like come on, you don't learn shit from clicking a few button's in some web hosting control panel. 0% skill.
-
This has to be the best virus idea I have seen. Half ethical half unethical. Microsoft makes more money, users are safer and hackers are screwed over for a bit longer. Maybe drop in that annoying 'Which browser you want to use' pop up 😂 Force the user to select Chrome or FF!!
-
Backend Dev must have written this 😂
-
Learning isn't confined to the classroom. The majority of Uni students don't understand that the time spend in class is equal the the time spent outside the class learning.
Anyway, colspan? That's basic HTML table stuff.
