Automating installation and configuration of an automation tool would actually save some time, which itself is supposed to save time. Puppeteering 2000 nodes of F5 loadbalancer and BIG-IP configuration spiderweb is actually fucking with me, oh well btw, that is the smallest task of whole project and none in my team are able enough to write a decent puppet class.
Deadline today, hoping to finish it up soon, getting back to you soon when I am done with it, cheerio devRanters! -
Hackers hid backdoor in CCleaner, with 2 billion downloads and 2.3 million greatly affected and detected so far, go fuck yourself you Windows fucking gloating noob fanboys showing off how you clean your C with CCleaner like a breeze, go clean your ass now and hope there's no backdoor there! 🖕8

I taught my 9yo sister to SSH from my Arch Linux system to an Ubuntu system, she was amazed to see terminal and Firefox launching remotely. Next I taught her to murder and eat all the memory (I love Linux, as Batman, one should also know the weaknesses). Now she can rm rf / --no-preserve-root and the forkbomb. She's amazed at the power of one liners. Will be teaching her python as she grew fond of my Raspberry Pi zero w with blinkt and phat DAC, making rainbows and playing songs via mpg123.
I made her use play with Makey Makey when it first came out but it isn't as interesting. Drop your suggestions which could be good for her learning phase?13 -
The download speed surpassed the speed of light this going backwards in time and appearing as negative number.

I once had to deal with GoDaddy customer support telling me their servers only support putty for SSH.
Well, fuck you! I use Linux and I SSH with a single command in terminal, no doubt putty is great but get your senses straight that putty is not the only way to SSH when you are being customer support for a tech company, don't just fucking recite a phrase list. Besides, they should understand Windows with putty is not the only way to SSH into servers, juicessh via Android, openssh via Linux, etc...
*btw, before you all rant about me buying from GoDaddy, I was lead dev for a startup few years back and they had already bought it from GoDaddy. Ofcourse they also provide free offers along with an order, which often includes email addresses, annoying support, gut-wrenching quality of service access...1 -
I bought hosting and domain last year, I uploaded my site and left it for months. Last month I logged onto my webhost's user panel and the "login to cpanel" option of my hosting directed me to someone else's premium hosting, I realised it late and I had already deleted whole of the WP site as I presumed it was mine. I left the database intact, reached out to the domain owner getting the info via whois, surprisingly he is was all fine losing his merchant navy academy website.
However, I WAS NOT FINE because I am not fucking expecting my webhost to give someone access to my hosting, just like I got access to his.
Been two weeks and they are unable to fix it and I am pissed off. I had no urgent need but I WANT ACCESS WHEN I WANT.
They are not as big as GoDaddy but they are a reputed hosting provider in my country with nice and fancy WP domain etc management portal and everything. I never expected this from then. How the fuck would they let this happen.5 -
"Non-devs never call Steven Spielberg to have their TVs fixed."
But sure they MUST call a dev to update their Android, iPhone, Windows, installation of Anti-virus, data recovery, malware removal, to shortlist 20 laptops from market, ask for what printer to buy, why is there a weird animation in Android sometimes, come borrow my WiFi, have their phones and computers fixed, RIP old audio CDs (yes!), fix Bluray, fix anything electronic, repair their bike, teach them science, politics...

Is it me only having to deal with horrible meeting product?
Arch Linux as my base OS, justifies my all-time updated system, NPAPI being deprecated in Firefox, Chrome and have to use Cisco WebEx every Saturdays and Sundays.
Just hate having to return to Windows to make WebEx chrome extension work for the meeting to be possible, and then a CentOS VM running for all the demonstration, explanation and teaching...
Although, IcedTea in Linux makes it possible but oh well it WebEx is still a horrible headache.1 -
Girlfriend, family, relatives, non-coder friends keeps ranting why I don't follow a social convention of attending usual meetings or gatherings and advising I should rather get some time away from a monitor screen.
*Like that's going to happen, getting away from screen, ever, hahahahahhha*
