Finally, a good use for Unit Testing :D

My employer bought some new 40" 4k displays to the office. The want us to evaluate if they are any good, and if so replace all monitors... No real developers has one, only HR people sitting there with one huge window with office or word open!! It makes me cry! And they will most likely say they are too big!

When everyone left the office I tried one... OMG, i need this in my life! 😍

When the company running my student accommodation not only stores the passwords for their resident portal in plain text and emails them straight to you in the case of a forgotten password. But also generates your password at sign up according to a specific general pattern...

Hmm. when you prove to be more knowledgable than the programmer that was pulled in, to interview you and he starts to go totally defensive and return spiteful responses
( like, what does a rookie like you know? i bet you never had an actual job )
when you calmly asks if any standard like PSR-2 is expected, if there are any preferred frameworks and what version control is used...

About Brexit.

So i was contributing to this project on github with a dangerously close (self-assigned) deadline and my friends called me to play some DotA. Well, i can say i didn't let anyone down.

People rant here about how they hate documenting things or writing tests or whatever.

Yes these things are not the most interesting but I have a feeling that we are forgetting about most horrendous of tasks - estimating. Especially in agencies. Especially related to altering legacy features. Especially big projects.

I mean, I'm spending time doing something that is basically dev's Voo Doo, hoping that I will be right... and usually I'm not.

Might be for the best sometimes...

During mockup presentation where everything is perfectly vertically aligned:

Dev: "How should the surrounding content behave if the article is longer?"

Designer: "That won't happen."

while browsing and analyzing some code...

I use to have pretty lenient office hours. Boss recently told me he wanted me in the office 9-5, gets mad when I don't respond to emails outside of those hours

When you work from home and your same age cousins do nothing to earn, their parents: "It doesn't matter. He (me) works from home, meaning he does nothing too".

Since 4 weeks i have during work my noise cancelling headphones on, thanks to the new open space office.
I don't even hear my phone ringing 😂
