It's in these situations that the truth comes out...
-
When I correct people for not using the correct figures, as in "it's 256 not 250", they say I'm being picky... :-/
-
Another complaint was that the setup of the alternative was done on Thursday, instead of Friday.
My response: I sent an email informing it would occur on Thursday, as was requested.
Their response: "Oh, I saw that email, but I thought it was a mistake." -
I like YYYY-MM-DD, because it's the only one that's sortable. ☺

Damn dude...
Stay strong! -
Data structures and algorithms is one of the most important subjects out there.
Once you fully learn a programming language, the only challenge out there is data structures and algorithms. -

Sure way to get a depression... ;P

@kanduvisla true, but the added layers of abstraction not only broadened the software developer base but it also allowed it to fragment into specific sectors.
If we think about time to market only, this was important because it allowed some software developers to focus on the end product instead of having to worry about mathematical/logical/computational/... problems.
Economically speaking, division of labor is one of mankind's greatest achievements. -
I don't agree with this statement. Depends too much on the developer's own notion of what is a good piece of code, not to mention their own ability to produce a good piece of code.
Developers should commit to developing code that is easy for other developers to use and understand. -
There is... it's called earphones... ;)

Why not try to be more like him? :)

Haters gonna hate...

He got cocky! :D

I give C a lot of credit, after all most of the currently most popular programming languages are based in C. But damn it was hard learning C in college!!! :P
I don't know how many times I cried at the sight of "Segmentation fault, core dumped." error message. -
Don't feed the troll! ;P

I cannot even begin to imagine the complexity of your project, but I do have some experience working with timezones and I can say just debugging simple bugs can be a pain.

It can go from Classic Rock to Progressive to 80's to Opera to Soundtracks.
The only one I don't listen to is Classic Music. -
@yusijs At my current job, we use an in house development framework with a MVC architecture. It's mostly based in PHP with JavaScript to handle the initial part of the requests.
The only problem I have with PHP is its lack of need for strict form on your code. You can have syntax errors in your PHP code and it will not break and still execute... -
@yusijs which PHP version did you compare? PHP 7 with Zend 9 has some pretty interesting performance figures.
-
@Jumpshot44 actually i think it's because I was trying to comment on a rant that was deleted in the meantime
-
C'mon... at least search for "nodejs vs PHP benchmarks"
-
We use WIMP where I work

... and to this day they are all very plausible and acceptable. :)
-
@Elkstorm Now it is... :P
-
I like this saying: you must first learn according to the rules, so when you become a master you can break every rule.
-
Clients think software development is easy, fast and cheap. The reality is, it's hard, slow and expensive.

@EpIcInCoGnItO Really?! No headphones? Wow...
I can work without music, but I get in the zone faster with music.
Also agree with you on dual display, desk and my chair. I pity the creature who dares to change my chair settings... >:( -
At work, with headphones on, so I can ignore people who try to talk to me.
At home, with nobody around.
