TBH I feel terrible, I hire and underpay developers on upwork. I'm such a scumbag, but it's soo addictingly cheap to abuse desperate low-income devs. One day when i get my startup going, I'll make things right and pay them properly. Until then, "get back to work you third world m*ther f*ckers". I'm jk, I'm tw too.

I've having issues trying to form a proper branching strategy for my mean stack app deployment.
Heroku creates staging and prod branches for my web app so I'm a bit confused if I need my own staging branch?
Currently I have this: feature -> dev -> staging -> heroku staging (the staging branch seems useless)
Also, Heroku allows you to promote heroku staging to heroku prod, so there's no point in making master push to heroku prod.
I'm thinking of making my strategy to the following, but wasn't sure of any pitfalls or anything I'm overlooking long term.
feature -> dev -> master -> heroku staging -> manual promote to heroku prod.
Any suggestions?5 -
After spending lots of money on a Mac mini 2014, ngrox, and other dev tools to get jenkins working for android, iOS, and node.js, I'm giving up and switching to bitbucket pipelines. Recently, my web builds having been taking +25 mins just downloading node modules. Let's see how fast bitbucket pipelines is. Especially with caching node modules.1

My employer uses latest and greatest macbooks. It's fuking awesome. I wasn't a fan until I found the ease of android and iOS development on it. I even started using Atom for web development. And I bought a Mac mini for a dedicated jenkins server. I don't think I'll ever go back to windows. There's just no point. I know it's expensive but it gets the job done. No more fukin mac VMs on VMware. Fuk that shit.20

I think the funniest thing about devrant is when people try to extend on the joke in the comments. #cringe2
