A young guy I work with burst into tears today, I had no idea what happened so I tried to comfort him and ask what was up.
It appears his main client had gone nuts with him because they wanted him to make an internet toolbar (think Ask.com) and he politely informed them toolbars doesn't really exist anymore and it wouldn't work on things like modern browsers or mobile devices.
Being given a polite but honest opinion was obviously something the client wasn't used to and knowing the guy was a young and fairly inexperienced, they started throwing very personal insults and asking him exactly what he knows about things (a lot more than them).
So being the big, bold, handsome senior developer I am, I immediately phoned the client back and told them to either come speak to me face-to-face and apologise to him in person or we'd terminate there contract with immediate effect. They're coming down tomorrow...
So part my rant, part a rant on behalf of a young developer who did nothing wrong and was treated like shit, I think we've all been there.
We'll see how this goes! Who the hell wants a toolbar anyway?!401 -
Me: "If today's demo to the client goes well,i will get my first cheque"
My server:"If today i stop working,it will be great"
Android Studio: "If i force a gradle update,it will be just fine".
*crying*

Client: "the content is pretty confusing and inconsistent. Would you say the frontend is ready?"
Me:"please do not ask that way."
Client: "i just asked a question. What do you mean?"
Me: "well.. you basically say that is bad and then asked me if I thought it was bad."
Client:" i was asking a question. It is your problem if you find that offensive. You were to deliver a finished design until 3pm. "
Me:"you just reviewed it and came up with new input..and apart from that there were just some buttons in the wrong shade."
Client:"yes but I expect that kind of critical input from the developer. "
Me: "I understand, but this was a tiny project for 300 cash. I can't go all out on a budget like this. "
Client:"but all the other jobs I gave you lately were paid much better.."
Me: "yes. Those were other jobs, right? Should I feel obliged to work overtime I eager expectation of more and different work?"
Client: "you used to be more excitable...."

I was about 12 years old and I was in 2nd year of high school (here in Belgium high school is from 12 to 18 after which you go to college or university). During that year I befriended someone who was already very interested in computer stuff and things and he kind of set me off. Ever since he got me into IT I really never looked back. (he is still my friend by the way and I'm now in college)2

At middle school they kept on banning the flash game sites so I made one my self but it was called something like mathhomework.somefreehost.com, the landing page looked like a homework site and all the flash games were called something like problem_1.swf. I use to sell logins to class mates at like £2.50.3

A long time ago I went to my first web developer interview intending to bluff my way in. A friend working there told me that they used (the infamous) Dreamweaver. So, in the interview, when they asked me what did I used to develop, with all the confidence I could gather I said: "Windriver".
Got the job 'cause the dude (interviewer) knew less than me.6 -
A couple of weeks back, I met some of the kids from my old school. They had joined together to form a small team and were designing and deploying websites for local businesses.
Turns out that they were mailing each other and using Dropbox to manage the source code. This had been going on nearly for an year.
I spent a couple of hours showing them how to use git and gitlab. Basics on committing, pushing, pulling, branching and merging.
I will never forget the look on their faces! They had seen God and its name is Git.7 -
The joy of ops - when the customer says "my reporting environment isn't fast enough - can I get my reports from the production environment?" and we've specifically created the reporting environment for insulating the system from performance-hogging queries...

Telling people I don't need GIT and prefer to do things via FTP for years. That is till today when I accidentally deleted everything.
sudo apt-get install git16 -
My first code :-
#include<stdio.h>
void main()
{ printf("Hello Divya"); }
Output :- I have a boyfriend...1 -
Admit it, in some of your projects you must have hardcoded something for an urgent delivery or last minute change :D6
