    I'm on call,
    I rarely work weekends, unless shit hits the fan for some reason.
    And nope - salaries have pros and cons, but I'll usually take a few hours off through the week to "get it back"

    When working on weekends without pay a decent company offers a change day off. Just talk to your boss if they have such option.

    1:Every now and then
    2: yes, simple as this: no pay no work

    @C0D4 What are some good/stable tech companies in Australia? (Other than Atlassian & Canva)

    @mint90 just tech based?
    🤔

    Envato, 99designs, Xero, invoice2go come to mind

    Google and Salesforce have offices here.

    Umm who else, Telstra (although it's a telco) has a giant tech footprint,

    Indeed, myob... there's a long list really.

    1. When Im on call
    2. Yes. We get a lump sum for simply being on call and can write up every case as min. 1h of work time (so if it takes 1.10h, you can write it up as 2h)

    No because I don't get paid for weekends. I don't let them do this to me.

    I rarely work on weekends. Usually if I did not have time to work during week. Or even more rarely - to get ahead for next week.

    I am getting paid when I work.
  • 2
    1) frequently
    2) yes

    I do not recommend though.

    @rutee07 is the dream.

    1. Yeah have to
    2. Nope, as it's not official

    Basically, we got tight deadlines and my team has to work on weekends to keep up the pace. It's becoming unavoidable as we're also using some of the tech we're not comfortable in (due to business requirement).
    I don't know what to even feel about this...

    1 sometimes
    2 yes

    Mind you I have maaany perks at my workplace that make me not even care if I do. I also have 2-3 clients that sometimes contact me on the weekend. My relationship with them is good enough to the point that I tell them not to worry about payments but they still insist of giving me up to $500 USD for something that probably took me 30 mins 🤷 and yes, I do mention that to them.
