Windows because it's the best operating system by the best company (Microsoft, if you didn't know) because they're best engineers on the planet and it's completely bug free and blazing fast. Only nerds use Linux, who even needs that? Like why would I want to build everything from source when I can just down load it?!? How stupid. And mac os is only for crybaby liberals LOL man it's great being an AMERICAN PATRIOT running the AMERICAN os called windows. If microsoft released windows os FREEDOM EDITION I would buy it immediately and any other true American would, especially if if they believe in our Lord and savior JESUS CHRIST. IN FACT I bet if they made a WINDOWS JESUS EDITION even more people would buy it (except those dirty liberals who Hate Jesus all the time with their UNNATURAL LIFESTYLES) Bill Gates is the literal reincarnation and he's here to save us from demons and homosexuals, WINDOWS FOR LIFE AMEN

    I use docker (compose) containers.

For most tasks, I use Google Cloud for developing, because renting a tiny kubernetes server + a few cloudbuild minutes is cheaper than buying a dev laptop every 3-4 years. I really don't favor Google, might as well be Azure or AWS or whatever, it's just what my employer is using.

I also just got pretty sick of hauling heavy overpriced overheating laptops around.

I threw together a $200 mini-ITX build at the office as a client workstation, with some second hand parts. It runs Linux Mint, Git, Vim, and a few of the Jetbrains IDEs.

Now that I'm 100% working from home, I most often use my Windows gaming PC to write code and push to git.

OS doesn't really matter when you don't run any compiler, webserver, database or test suite locally.

I might actually move to a raspberry pi as a dev machine... Or maybe just for giggles I'll try out a RISC-V system.

@Root I insist in insinuating indifference; idiomatic Inglés is infinitely infuriating.

Or something, I should go to bed.

One of my seniors, so called a tech giant discovered a portable charger, with two removable batteries with cool stuff. Was astonished with his work and asked to make me one. He just laughed and laughed and laughed. Master shifu too laughed and laughed and laughed. Me too :D.
He said one thing that seeded in my mind that the work we do should be understable by 6-60 years of people if we explain to them. But he didn't give me that portable 6 js charger.
