When you're jumping between 6 streams of work concurrently, over 4 stacks. yea burnout is real.

    That's how I ended 2021.

This year I'm just taking 1 ticket at a time and duck the concurrent priorities. I'm gonna kill my self if I keep jumping around so much.

    "You wanna know my secret?

    ...I'm always burned out."

Got one in late 2020 the again in early 2021, switched workplace and now I feel close to one again.
The first two were due to heavy workload (as @C0D4 mentioned) and poor salary, now I'm starting to get PHPTSD because of the worst CMS you can imagine... but well paid at least.

For me it's a constant up and down.

When depression kicks in the groins, it's hard to keep it up.

Thx to home isolation depression not only kicks in the groins, but bites the nipples too -.

Currently I'm in the "he train has to keep rolling or I'm drowning" mood.

But as always, there are few bright moments which makes the train go on... Very few. But at least enough to not kick the bucket.

Reading comments here I think my burnout is more just depression, I'm fed up and bored of 9-5 work, but if I stop every dependent goes, responsibilities are great, my 9-5 is all the work I have though so burnout probably isn't accurate

I've never really been burned out.
Not having hard deadlines does help a lot.

The times I've been close it's almost always had to do with me working late one day to "finish" only to find the next day more work keeps piling on and it's nowhere near finished - while a deadline is stressing me out.

When I switched from being a consultant to working for product development there's been fewer stressful deadlines and I avoid the spiral.
