@tilde It is, although my router's UI checked that the SSID only contained ASCII characters. Luckily, that check was only present in JavaScript ;)

Be prepared for some difficulties though, as Unicode SSIDs are non-standard. Older Android phones maybe can't connect to it and Windows 7 doesn't properly display the SSID (but connecting is fine).
