Can we talk about banks? Those fuckers! Suposed to keep our money save and be competent... They today gave me the biggest scare of my live and I've run one an update query on a prod db without a where clause! (Okay I knew we had a backup but still pretty scarry moment!)

As a few know, besides being a dev I help to organize a small openair music festival here in Switzerland. The openair was this weekend. Every thing wen't well, until I checked our ebanking account today. There was only 2/3 of the money that should be there. A quick call to the bank and they told me, nope they never received it. As we've thrown it in a secure locker during the night, we didn't receive any receipt or something like that. It took those fuckers 3.5 hours to actually go and check the looker, just to find the remaining money in the corner of it. What the fuck people, can't you open your fucking eyes and not give me a fucking heartatack? I thought you guys are professionals!

Note locker: we get a key to open it from the outside, place our payment during the night, as soon as we close it, it falls inside a vault, so there it's a pay in only system, for lack of a better word, I called it locker.

My heart is still beating like mad, because of them.

Who doesn't know the moment of absolute heartattack when you accidentally press/drag something or press some weird hotkey combination and something on screen flashes, disappears, groups your code, opens some random file, starts your email client or just simply closes what you were working on without any confirmation window

Before getting my dev job, I taught myself some java and made a program to assist myself in the position I was working. It was borderline a keyloger, but it helped me with a lot of repetive tasks. Long story short, our security didn't dig that I installed something they didn't approve (I probably could have just not made it an exe and gotten away with it but my boss wanted it as an exe to run on other computers) they didn't know exactly what it was. I totally understood the security concerns though but they sure gave me a fucking heart attack right before my interview for my first dev job! Was seriously worried I was going to be fired and miss my big chance to make it in with out a degree.

Today he came in to me and asked me how it looked with The release.
I asked him What he meant by that.

"Well, we had release on friday, but you never contacted me about it."

Me: "What? Friday? Since when did we have releases with two weeks inbetween? And why havent I gotten this news?"

Tl: "Well, we don't usualy, but you know... Any way, can you have it done by today?"

Me, 10sec away from a cardiac arrest: "NO, are you insane? You have to tell me about this earlier than the same day."

Tl: "Yeah, but there's been so much work recently.. Well, we'll talk later."

Do you have a smart watch with a magnetic band? Do you take it off while using your mac to prevent damage? If so read this one post that may worry you.

I always take off my lg watch with the magnetic band to prevent damage (Null, say something new dammit!). It was sitting on the left side of my mac and normally sits a fair distance away. Well someone needed my help and the watch got too close to my mac (the front left side) and my screen just turned black almost immediately. Wtf happend? It fixed itself almost as soon as I moved it but holy shit did my heart drop.
