Java script is like an angry girlfriend who won't tell you what is wrong.
This shit happened today.
Me: somearray.includes[stuff];
JS: I'm alright everything is fine.
Me: no it's not, Clearly the feature is not working.
JS:* silence*
Me: Fine be that way.. * spends lot of time debugging finally finds the issue*...oh shit.
Me: somearray.includes(stuff);
JS: I SAID NO TRAILING SPACE IN END OF THE LINE YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT NO TRAILING FUCKING SPACES AAAAHHHH!!!7 -
A couple of weeks ago, I got to the second stage of a recruitment process with a relatively big fintech in the crypto space (I know) - all went well and although I did not think much of it at first, with all the information I had gathered I came to realize this might as well be the best opportunity I've had in my pursuit of finding a new job (i.e looking for high technical challenges, unsure of where I see myself in 5 years, wanting to give full-remote work a try, etc.).
Cue to the end of the interview;
"That's great! I really enjoyed speaking with you, your technical background seems excellent so we would like to move to the next stage which is a take-home test to do in your free time.", said the interviewer.
"Wow! Much amaze, well of course! What's it gonna be?", said the naive interviewee.
"I'm sending you the details via email, please send it back in 48 hours, buhbye now", she hangs up.
...
"48 hours?? Right, this should be easy then, probably some online leetcoding platform, as usual.", thought the naive interviewee, who evidently went through this sh*t numerous times already.
A day later I receive the email: this was the whole deal. The take-home test supreme with bacon and cheese. A full-blown project, with tests, a project structure, a docker image, testing and bullet points for bonus points! The assessment was poorly written with lots of typos and overall ambiguity, a few datasets were also provided but bloated with inconsistent comments and trailing whitespace.
What the actual fck??? Am I supposed to sleep deprive myself to death while also working my day job? What are you trying to assess? How much of my life I'm willing to sacrifice for your stupid useless coding challenge? You are not all Google, have some respect, jeez.
I did not get the job.2 -
Dear ESLint,
- you convinced me to put a space between function() and {
- you convinced me to use single quotes for strings in place of double quotes
- you convinced me to put a space between inline operators
- you had me when you said that trailing spaces shouldn't compare in my code
- you said to put semicolons at the end of each instruction, and I thought it wasn't a so bad idea
BUT NO FUCK OFF NO NEVER I WON'T NEVER PUT A FUCKING TRAILING COMMA IN THE END OF JAVASCRIPT OBJECT IT'S MEANINGLESS UGLY A WASTE OF A FUCKING BYTE.
WHY THE FUCK I SHOULD TYPE var obj = {a: 'some text',} INSTEAD OF var obj = {a: 'some text'} WHY WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THAT FUCKING COMMA9 -
So yesterday there was suppose to be a test of the AlertReady Canadian program. Didn’t work in Quebec.
Reason: a trailing space

I just need to vent about how frustrating and terrible Windows is.
It almost seems like consistentsy and attention to detail are completely foreign concepts to Microsoft. Everything from simple text selection (WHY DOES A DOUBLE CLICK INCLUDE THE TRAILING SPACE) to using advanced software feels like a chore.
Any sympathizers here? What problems do you need to vent about when trying to navigate your OS?
FWI I'm not a Mac or Linux user, so I have the joy of using Windows at home. I wish I could switch, but I prefer full access to my Steam library so I'm stuck with this option.rant microsoft venting windows 10 windows sucks windows 10 sucks why would you do that bad design windows7 -
Fuck copy-pasting. I just spent WAY too long trying to figure out why == wasn’t working to compare strings in python when I discovered that I had accidentally pasted a trailing space into the database entry causing it to not be equal
FUCK3 -
Spent an hour trying to figure out why my API request was returning unauthorized, turned out I had a trailing space after the ID (hard coded for testing purpose) T_T4

I love it when a safety feature meets an edge case.
I was driving along the highway, with adaptive cruise control on. There were cars in front of me and also behind me.
The car ahead of me set his turn indicator to the right and was decelerating for the exit ramp.
All good, heart rate 60bpm, there was plenty of space to get passed...
Suddenly, my car was like "PANIC, PANIC, EMERGENCY, BRAKE BRAKE BRAKE!!" And some automagic emergency brake triggered.
And I was like, "WHAAATT THEE FUUU...."
You cannot make these random emergency stops when a car is trailing your ass at high speed.
Yeah, it was something with the radar and the car fluctuating in front but anyway, nice feature.5
