That feeling when you apply to a job and in their rejection email where they point out that they have a whole rubric for assessing applications and you just don’t make the cut, they end the email with “We wish you success with your job search. To assist in your employment search, we would like to refer you to this [resource](http://myspectrumsuite.com/employme...)

I’m curious what works for you? Lyrics or instrumental music while you’re working? I find myself preferring instrumental music while I’m thinking about a problem. The music can be technical and busy or super chill, but lyrics always distract me.
Of course, If I’m just half focused and grinding out mock responders for my unit tests then lyrics are fine.11 -
I'm the only developer here. I'm also pretty bad.
I can't handle all this responsibility, every single fuck up will be my fault.10 -
So what am I doing for valentines day? So far, I've walked for 18KM.. 3KM less than my previous record.
My feet are going to hate me tomorrow but my wallet sure will be in love with me 😂3 -
I'm not sure if it is a dev experience, but definitely boosted my morale.
In 2014, my company (in India) sent me to attend a conference in Boston. The conference was about big data.
When I came back, I wrote a blog post about Apache Spark in my company's blog. Because of the blog, my name got mentioned in a prominent newspaper's article about Apache Spark.
PS: That is my only blog post till date -
As a junior developer it's frustrating to not have the skill yet of mentally mapping data models in your head, so that you can figure out bugs.
I see senior developers being able to quickly solve bugs because they can translate code into data models and they can figure out what's wrong.
Me on the other hand, I spend hours and days with my hands in my hair trying to figure out why my algorithm isn't giving me back what I expect it to.
It'll take experience.. I only have 1 year experience..10 -
Everybody still using Windows 7 is waking up to this this morning.
Thank you Microsoft for doing sales for us 😁5 -

At work, how often do you create your own apps? As opposed to adding a new feature to an existing one?
I am thinking maybe the biggest difference between me and everyone else on my team is because I have a lot more experience creating my own apps.
So when I get a problem I tend to start by thinking how to create a new app for it, what would be the ideal way to solve the problem. And then if needed, figure out how to integrate it into an existing project.
Whereas everyone else thinks about how to solve a problem within the context (and constraints) of an existing app.17 -
I joined based on a friend invitation, then he didn’t attend...
It was two days hackathon...
Spent the first day trying to find any thing to do... but didn’t!
Slept in the place chatting and socializing...
In the second day, I found interesting JavaScript library, and decided to invest my time trying it...
Built a prototype in two hours, photoshop a presentation in two hours... waited 3 hours to the end of the event... present my Working POC...
Won second place and qualified to the world wide competition!2 -
- Guys, today the security auditors are coming, don't forget to remove your sticky notes with passwords. And for God's sake wear the badges for a least a day!
