Not really a recruiter but at interview at one place I was given a printed code example and told that there was 8 bugs and that I shield treat it like a code review.
I found 16 bugs and 4 bad practices and explained them all to the director of software engineering and team lead (that set the test), they agree that I was correct; the director turned to the team lead and said ... Are you are your a senior
I tried not to laugh lol1 -
I prefer my own proprietary code over open source solutions any day. Might take longer to develop, but it hits the spot.6

Programming on a train is always interesting. I expect a minimum of one dirty/confused look off a member of the public.2

Which is worse?
- Staying at a company you helped build because you have an emotional attachment to it, even if it's not as good to work for now, people are leaving every week and pay is under market rate.
- Leaving a company you helped build purely for more money and a big name on your CV.
