Today I learned that coding in front of a room full of developers while they watch me code, sends me into anxiety mode and I forget how to type properly. Now all my coworkers think i type at 2 works a minute. yay :/

The most annoying co-worker(*team*) I have worked with just signed off a custom project that uses plain text passwords, hard coded into a file.. PLAIN TEXT!!! NO HASH!!! NOTHING!!! The same team also told me that working in feature branches cuts into their productivity, but they want CI/CD implemented NOW!

Becoming full stack is tough business when you have no Design eye

There was this senior designer many years ago that used to come in late everyday, do fuckall except piss everyone off and then spend the majority of her day on the phone organising her social life. We all hated her, and she knew it. This one day she came in and resigned. As we were all Mac, we quickly invented a nickname for her which was "Type 11" in the old Mac days this error was "Unexpectedly Quit". The sad thing was she was best mates with the owners wife. Everyone in the office was questioned about their meanness and nasty vibes. She didn't quit it was just to get back at us for hating her. 12 years on, I'm self employed and she does marketing in a manufacturing co. We get on really well and she gives me good work. Moral: I have no fucking idea what life is about.

A few years ago, a fellow programmer called me to teach him how to use git blame to find out who wrote that piece of code that broke the monetary ecosystem in this game. He was pretty upset about it because they blamed him about it. I gladly helped him just to see my own name there. Sad story.

I'm the lead dev at a tiny startup and was asked to write the job description for our open junior dev position since the new hire will directly work with me everyday. Since posting the opening online 2 weeks ago I've had 2 different recruiters contact me telling me about how my resume perfectly lines up with the job description ... no shit Sherlock, that's because I wrote the job description to find someone with my skill set.

So I've been messing with these recruiters. I told the last one I was interested so when he asked my salary I told him what I make but said I would settle for a lot less to get this job. Eventually he asked for my updated resume so I sent it clearly showing that I work for the company the opening is at. He called me back saying he's not sure what's going on so I told him I wanted to pursue the opening because I wanted to be my own boss. We both laughed but his was that nervous "I don't get it" laugh ... how sad for him.
