Was chatting with my long distance gf today, and sad that we had to cancel our Easter trip because of coronavirus.
Somehow she cheered me up and we ended up talking about what we want to do once the pandemic is over. I am going to literally restart my wardrobe, since I would be sick of the clothes I have been wearing till then.
How about you? -
Coding taught me to be patient, understanding, and accept my mistakes.
Don't blame the computer when things are going wrong; it is just doing that it is being told to do. If you acknowledge that you might be to blame too, sit down and have a calm conversation with it (debugging joke😂), things will be alright. -
Had a shameful moment today, when I got my PR kicked back with a comment "can you be patient and not rush this through?"
I knew that the person meant well and the code was not up to my usual standard but at the moment I felt a strong sense of inferiority. Worst thing is that it's still lingering as I am going to bed.
Hope tomorrow is a new day.4 -
Unintentionally Hilarious joke at work yesterday.
We were doing some data analysis, and I had to dump some stuff into a table for my colleague. So I ran the script and went to the bathroom (no.2).
When I came back, they asked me if the dump is done. And I said without thinking: "I just went." 😂3 -
Project deadline is this weekend, I can make it if I put OT in for the next few days. But not sure if I should. Thoughts?6

Wondering if we developers should have a more explicit "kudos" system in place where you can send another developer a thanks for their lib, advice, etc. Seems very worthwhile to me. -
Just realized how much saxophone music helps me write code. Would recommend.
PS: what do you listen to when working?8 -
Just bought a bmi scale, confirmed what I already know: I am just a lazy piece of shit.
Get fit and be healthy.6 -
Had my first evaluation session today, where people use my software for an hour and see if they like it. Mixed feelings.
For one thing there are indeed bugs here and there, but a lot of the things that people say are missing are there! They just didn't see it.
In times look this I see I still need to do better painfully clear.5 -
Angry rant.
Been stuck for 3 days with web socket config on VPS and it turned out one of the libraries I use gets fucked when compiled to JS. Deadline this weekend. Oh well.1 -
Switched from Chrome to Firefox, and my CPU usage literally dropped from 80% to less than 10%. How is this possible?4

Knew it was a bad idea to work on my project over the break, and I am stuck for a day and have to spend the new year celebration being stuck.

Just finished all exams... Happy that they are over and sad because now I am six months away from getting kicked out to society3

Sometimes you get too used to everything, that you forget to be humble and curious, to explore and learn new things all the time. I miss the time when I say:oh this shit is cool, I am gonna try it out.
Glad someone knocked this back into me. -
Got a cold and accidentally forgot to screw the water bottle then the water went into my computer.
All these good things.7 -
Me and friend talking about a paper.
Friend: how much do you want me to read?
Me: readln

All I wanted for Christmas is a personal barista who gives me great coffees in the morning. #badatcoffeemaking #stilllovecoffeethough4

Getting cold-feeted and didn't join a coding group in high school. I ended up stopping coding for a good 3 years, which could have been spent for so much learning... :/

When you debug a piece of code for a good half an hour and then realise you forgot to change the name of some variable when copying code from earlier bits.3
