Github after acquisition

How are all those users who migrated from Github to Gitlab after Microsoft Github acquisition doing?
Still on Gitlab or sneaked back in silently with different usernames?😂

Microsoft needs to get a clue from the rising traffic in GitLab. People don't trust them anymore.

npm audit has gone wild since GitHub (aka Microsoft) acquisition, they surely found a way to influence the community.

Now, guys, embrace the creeping evil until deno is really out.

And yesterday it asked me to go premium for my account. Snap!

I guess I will stay on Github with my projects at the moment, as the acquisition by Microsoft doesn't seem as bad as initially expected. Propably it will even improve the UX of Github.

Probable microsoft inside talk about github acquisition:
m$ lawyers: We need to pull this github repository to find our patents and claim the suit against this company that is making some android powered hardware, also the other one from company that want to make operating system with double mouse click
m$ management: This patent violation search is taking to much resources so let’s acquire github and order them to develop some automatic shit over their repositories so we don’t have to pull those repos all over again

RIP GitHub

Take a service I like and pay for, a service that is about open source and collaboration, and sell it to a company that is complete garbage and has for years been hated for selling garbage overpriced software that is just terrible.

I’m not looking to argue about Windows (it’s garbage no matter how much you want it not to be) but Microsoft as a company is just not a fit for GitHub.

I’m not stupid though, I see the goal. The goal is that old school, shitty emperor use software teams will be more likely to use GitHub if it is owned my MS. On the same way that many of them force their employees to use garbage Windows machines because “it’s what we have always done”.

GitHub will become another shitty service that some people argue is good based on their ignorance
Of other options. This is sad.

TLDR: I fucking dislike this acquisition entirely and will immediately remove all private repos from GitHub and cancel my subscription on Monday if it is announced.
