What my parents would have said back in the day if I told them I was a dev: "You listen to that annoying sound for a living?"2
-
The music I hear while coding can describe my current mood:
Dubstep and other electronic music -> chilled and focused
Movie soundtracks -> everything I do today is working fine
Anime Openings/JPop -> in desperate need for motivation
Metal -> why is that son of a code not working?!
What kind of music do you listen to while coding?17 -

When I used to code I'd use the Pomodoro Technique.
It helps me get tasks done more quickly and efficiently when I know I only have to focus for 45 minutes and then I get a 15 minute break.
It also helps if you're stuck on something, because when you come back to it you have fresh eyes.
Also, music without any lyrics helps me focus better than music where someone is singing. Be it Mozart or dubstep, as long as there are no words I can work with it. 😂 (I highly recommend Instrumental Core)
Finally, my phone would be in a completely different room or in my desk drawer in DND mode. I set it up so that it only rings for certain people (parents, brother and boyfriend), so no-one can bug me while I work. It's fantastic. -
Can you drop some playlist links (Spotify, YouTube, Apple music, doesn't matter where it's from) for the following genres:
Rap *personal favorite, and the main one I'm looking for lol*
Trap (preferably NGHTMRE, Slander, etc like trap music)
Dubstep
Lo fi
and any of your personal favorites.
Thanks to all who do. Just trying to amass some new songs and all.14 -
Aye i know we got a few musicians here, what daw do you recommend for a beginner? Im tryna use lmms right now and its not bad but there might be better ones. Main direction would be dubstep. Windows is fine and id keep it free or under $50 if possible.3

I've been working on a Programming playlist for a while and seems people want more of those, so I'll share mine as well
The following is a mix of dubstep, house, vocal EDM and a whole bunch of Rocket League music

I believe that the answer to all my problems lies in the wubbs of chillstep.
It's the only thing that helps me debug.
